Modar shrine, seem to be in a weird area
I thought some other places for bosses close to other biomes, but so far the one Modar shrine I think takes the topping. The mountain range barely touch swamp, tiny area of plains but surrounded by mist lands. Trying to figure if I should build anything in the mist lands or leave it alone. If I keep heading south, I will hit ashlands. 90% of mountains surrounded by mist lands. Not sure if there is other shrines. Also 25-30 sail from my main base with a long boat. Have to head south. Should I build in mist lands or skip it and build in mountains? Should I build a stone dock in mist lands or find another area? Should I look for another shrine for Modar?

That world is on a server I don't own. I looked to see if there was a way to get the seed if you aren't the server owner but apparently the way to do that has been patched out by the devs. The server owner doesn't play any more so I haven't been able to get it from him. If you know of a way to pull it up that still works I'd be happy to post that seed.I feel for you. After Bonemass and silver gear I climbed it from the other side. It still would have taken forever using the pick. Not even sure my bronze pick would have lasted long enough to get over it with out a repair.I feel for you. My Bonemass altar was against a mountain on one said that was too steep to climb from the Black Forest side and surrounded by plains on all 3 other sides and far inland. To far to make a dock and walk in.
At about 50% stam use your pick and make a small ledge to rest in. Rinse and repeat.

If the pick too hard, you use the hoe to make small flat area too. Great to make narrow trails on mountains. Level terrain with the hoe, does not need work bench.

My apologies, just me being pedantic. Carry on. :)No worries. You couldn't possibly know unless I told you. Just something I deal with. It takes quite a bit of practice to play this game and learn how to live when you have motor control issues but its a ton of fun so I cope and enjoy.
I once had a Moder location literally surrounded by Plains.Sounds just like the map screenshot I posted above.
Yes, I sailed around the entire island. Nothing but Plains near the shore.

"Modar", "Modor"... It's just "Moder", meaning "Mother". Sorry, for being pedantic. ;)Eh, I'm visually impaired and have motor control issues from a stroke. When I looked at the map the font looks like it could be either an "E" or an "O". Even at that I'm just as likely to make a typo.
On my main's seed, Moder is still in the "inner circle" of the map, but Bonemass was way off, close to Yagluth.
It all depends on if you have a map which is more islands than continents. If so, Moder could be in a really outlandish position due to needing a larger landmass to being able to spawn larger mountains.

@PakaNoHida Modar is far side of the map for every location. That link showed Modar I am at is really close to Ashlands. One of them is far right of the map by the edge of the world. Other one close north area. Closest boss to north lands is bonemass shrine. Also Yagluth shrine close to Modar ones. 1 that look to be closer to start island. Mountain with Modar shrine, swamp I talked about, ocean then ashlands. I might able to walk from Modar shrine through few biomes into ashlands.That's not always the case. On this seed Modor is on my start island and Bomemass was all most impossible to get to.

Tell me about it. The island seed my second char is on has Moder waaaaay down south. It's way behind mistlands territory, probably right before ashlands.

I checked my seed with the map website and I had to cross Mistlands to get to my Yagluth, so I understand your pain.
