They allow you to use cheats because they know you will get yoiurself in extremely hard situations to recover your body, sometimes when you die it might take days for you to recover your gear...if in multiplayer more people may die trying to help you, etc....I think cheats are avaible for now to avoid people from quitting when they die in the other side of the world on the top of a mountain.

If you play it with your friends and build stuff etc. It's all good i would say ? i mean you paid for the game , because you enjoy it and some people out the find it tedious to deal with the weight/inventory space management ,which can lead too a place filled with no despawning items or some annoying creatures come to invade you and maybe mess up your building.

Once the building is finished. You feel happy about it and amazed on what you created ,however i used both ways and i feel doing it without fly mode and creative mode more immersive to build , but also sometimes more frustrating to get the proper angles.

I played a few days ago with some friends , who hated me for powerleveling bow to 100 , which i barely used ,since its really busted and they kept constantly blaming me for it and telling me i cheated the game (?) im not allowed to do that and should feel bad about it ?
I mean how can this be called cheating ?? When i just focus on leveling a specific thing like i bought the game and if i want to level archery i do that ? If i want to build free with creative mode. You can do that too , aslong as you dont drop ♥♥♥♥ stuff like endgear armor and leave the server or oneshot ♥♥♥♥.

I feel like people making cheating more dramatized than annything else, if someone wants to build limited or more freely. He can do that in both ways legit or creative mode.No harm there ,if he would drop items for other peoples or oneshot stuff , thats a different story ??

Just play the way you like it. You bought it you should enjoy it, aslong as you dont mess up other peoples games

Changing character appearance is only accessible with cheats, that seems acceptable since it has no difference to any gameplay.

It's not permanent and as far as I've seen there is no downside. The "imacheater" and "debugmode" commands are toggles. At this point in development it doesn't matter. You're going to be re-rolling your world anyways to get the benefits of further updates down the line.

You can turn it on and off whenever.
But you can't use it on multiplayer servers, only on solo servers.

The only obvious effect is you don't gain any experience whilst the cheat is active, to the best of my knowledge.

Yep, you can turn it off, you dont have to be worry about that. ^^

And for the Steam achievements, it's possible yes, I dont know what devs have planed about that to be honest. Anyway, you can create new worlds and characters easilly, so I think this dont matter that much.

It's not. :) It's safe to use. But after while it can be boring :P

No , but even youtubers use cheat when they need to build those ridiculously large building .

I’ve used ghost and fly. No downside. I logged out and logged back into make sure it wasn’t still enabled.

Upside was I got the roof done without being pestered from Greylings.

I’m thinking of doing some experimental builds and using the free building option, but restricting myself to only the items I can make so I don’t have to chop down a load of beach trees and potentially ruin raspberry bushes. And once I’m done I,lol empty my inventory of resources collected whilst demoing and use the clear area command to remove what’s laying on the floor.

Nice houses with no extra resource gain.

What matters is that I enjoy playing my game. I hated the swamp. What I consider 'unplayable'. Would have quit the game without being able to bypass them. I'm on my second playthrough and plan to spawn my wishbone and all the iron I need as soon as I kill the Elder. I'm just not doing the swamps. Ever. Is it cheating? No. It's enjoying the game I purchased, in spite of some of the questionable decisions the devs have made. (World hopping is better than ore portals, for instance).
