Question has already been answered, but I will chime in only to say I wish the co-op servers were persistent for all players. In other words, the server owner did not have to be logged in for others to also log in. This is the reason I pretty much ONLY solo play now. I neither want to hinder others from potentially playing (by hosting) or be hindered from playing.

Of course, you can play any character on any server whenever you want so that's cool.

you can absolutely play solo and enjoy the everloving f**k out of it. Just need to be a little extra careful and prepared.

Awesome, thank you all. The last few times I was playing Ark, it was just a friend and I, but people still managed to come in and destroy all our stuff. I know we could have our own server, but we had to pay for it separately, so I don´t actually know how to do it any other way lol

You can pause the game in solo play with a mod. Highly recommended for solo games.

Game work well on SP. You dont feel like there must be a party. Ofc there are some problem with solo game, like it take alot of more time to do stuff. Beat a boss, building a fort, for one person that can take alot time, and the game dont offer any "pre-made" building which mean you need to plan and build everything from the ground up, It both fun and it can be too much sometime. Personally I havent reach last 2 boss, but I do wonder would it be too hard for SP to take those boss down. but ofc I am having too much fun to explorering/conquering world and building new base to worry too much.

I have 800 hours of solo play. Valheim doesn't even hassle you about using a server when you first launch it. You can go straight to solo play without being aware of the multiplayer capabilities.

Yes, but Ark uses a lot of time gating where you have to wait hours at a time for stuff to happen. You can adjust it to make things go faster, but the game is definitely more geared towards being run on a server, while Valheim is actually balanced for solo offline play.

I played Ark solo and never remember having to wait for anything. There was always something to do.

It's best played solo, and yes you can.

You can play solo. You must really prepare yourself for boss battles though.

yep, you can create worlds and have the option to make them a server or just offline for yourself. be warned though, the game cannot be paused, esc menu will keep your game running, when taking a break it's better to log off

It's not a MP game, it's a co-op/solo game. There aren't any griefers, theoretically.

Yes. I only play solo.Right now its a good game and worth a buy and you will get value for your money.Look for a good seed on youtube and there are many excellent mods that make the game play and look better( I try to use only graphic mods in games and play the game the way devs want).Just remember its unfinished, the team is small and it still needs more optimisation, the last update did alot to make game run better but more work is needed.
