Any good mod recommendations ?

There's also a mod that will regenerate biomes. I'm hoping the devs add a one-time option to do the same in the base game after a major update.

If the map has not been explored within several hundred(!) meters of the new terrain, the new expansion will work as intended.

If you have explored within several hundred meters, that area will not get the new content.

As mentioned, as long as you haven’t gotten too close to the unfinished biomes, they’ll generate properly when they do get updated.
