Will my world still load after a year away?
Just curious before I re-install...I'd like to pick up an old game to re-familiarize myself before deciding to start a new world...(or not and wait a bit longer for more content).
Thanks.
Thanks.

Runs the same now as it did for me a year ago chiefthey've barely updated the game in a year right now so yeah you should be good
The terrain mechanic seemed to have changed quite a bit, hence my post above yours. But keep spreading the FUD.

In old worlds it is highly recommended to use the "optterrain" command in the console when standing on heavily modified terrain. This will cleanup excessive terrain modification data from your world database and makes the game run much smoother.
To get the console, you need to add "-console" to the Valheim command line in Steam. Then press F5 in-game and you have the console.
The "imacheater" command has been changed to "devcommands".

It should but places you explored wont have any of the new content (Tar Pits in the plains, or Frost Caves in the Mountain), you may also need to use a dev command to adjust the terrain to a new system, but it should load.
I would just start again, theres some new stuff you will need to get used to anyways.

OK cool. Mostly I'm concerned with my 'museum / loot vault' world which only has a small area around the initial spawn area explored anyway. Ya I plan to cheat myself a bit of (not too much) a head start ('cause I've done the initial grind more times than I'd like to admit).
Thanks for the reply.
