Just reuse the pickaxe swing.

No, it is a weapon, and a fine one aswell. Axes should be, like in real life, a cheaper alternative to swords, lacking some damage but bringing some crowd control like some disarming or some pulling effects.

Axe obviously is both a weapon and a tool. No reason it shouldn't have a secondary.

Anything you can grab and use to break anything is a tool and a weapon, discussion won and over

Yeah, the update where they talked about making axes viable in fighting. Where they even worked much on axes and added one. A bad time thinking about making axes viable weapons indeed.

I don't think it needs it, at least not as a special attack, but certainly a downwards chop would be appreciated for stumps and low enemies like leeches.
