There are also mods to allow any and all items to attach to stands, which works visually on vanilla clients, and to make the stands themselves invisible when occupied, which doesn't.

I really hope mistlands will get us stone walls less thick to have more building options

an option to have wooden parts that don't degrade with water/rain to build dock or exterior wood structures

From the teaser images it looks like mistlands will be more and bigger stone blocks, with sloped buttresses and smoother surfaces. The vertical slab shall remain in the modding scene as canonised by Minecraft.

You aren't thinking outside the box, the levels of comfy at my church-brewery keeps increasing exponentially and shows no signs of stopping.

More cosmetic stuff will likely come with future updates, until then you can pull off some extreme better homes & gardens tier stuff with what we have now. Check my screenshots if you don't believe me :F

Still looks like an owl straddling a globe, but thanks for the ideas. I hope they add more cosmetic items in the future.

You can recolor silver and black metal shields at creation. Bronze nails and fine wood let you create both vertical and horizontal item stands. Horizontal stands can be used to display weapons, shields, tools and trophies. I keep my tin knife on a horizontal stand outside my live stock barn, I keep my cultivator on a horizontal stand out side my seed shed that is next to my planting beds, I keep my swamp key and wish bone on horizontal stands over my dragon bed.

Armor stands let you display a second or previous set(s) of armor.

Vertical stands let you put items on flat surfaces so you can put various foods and meads on a table to make it look like a banquet and you can display dragon's eggs, poison resistance, and frost resistance meads for subdued lighting.
