Still no added content? I haven't played in almost a year, has there been a new boss or area added?

Money doesn't magically speed up the development or increases the team's size.

that is only true if you are talking about a time range of just a few months but within a year money and time allow you to not only hire devs but to also get them familiar with the project to the point where they definitly speed up the development process

The game was released in Feb. They spent months on fixing bugs and improving the game's performance (because no one expected and the game wasn't made for such a huge playerbase). After that, they immediately started hiring and started working on new content.

Trust me, they don't sit in a corner and twiddling their thumbs.

I don't think people understand that throwing money at something usually cannot speed things up. I mean, things CAN be sped up but that means rushing things which equals bugs and glitches galore.

Example - CyberPunk 2099. Fans demanded its release as soon as possible, devs caved and then got a buggy release and backlash.

If someone is framing a house, throwing more money at them isn't going to make them move twice as fast, it's going to make them be more meticulous. You can only have so many people working on a project before people start tripping over each other.

That may be true for physical projects limited in space and with a clear end goal, but software? You gotta be kidding me by saying money can't speed things up.
They have at least two unfinished biomes, and they are working on one of them if my info is correct. I'm pretty sure it's not an impossible task to organize a second team working on the other one, for example.
Also hire a testing team, that should deal with bugs.
A lead designer with no actual dev work but organizing and streamlining cooperation would help with people tripping over each other.

I can completely understand and accept if they don't WANT to expand the company and they want to develop the game with their original team in their own pace, but that's a decision, not a constraint. It's not because it would be impossible, or that money couldn't help with it, but it's a choice. I too would be snorting cocaine from naked butts of prostitutes with my buddies if I got that kind of money, not hiring more people for the project, for sure.

I can see that people with entitlement issues are frustrating and annoying, but so are arguments to defend the devs that are not nearly true. Also I don't think they need defending.

I think there are enough hire and fire companies out there. No need for another one!
Why not just let them do their work as they want and grant them their unexpected success?

Or aim for a more ambitious project.

Which part of my comment made you think I don't let them, or that I am impatient? I just have an issue with statements about things being "impossible", on principle.

If you haven't played in almost a year, then just go on, and wait for next biome release, as only this seems to interest you in this game. In the meantime, you can still play your favorite games, those games that really entice you with their settings, atmosphere and actions to do, those games that put a spell on you!

Once a new biome get released, I guess that you can enjoy playing another 20 hours until you "finish" it, and then wait for next biome another year, while returning at your favorite games.

i cant imagine the ugly pressure on developer if kids like this going rampant on just like every alpha discussion page with the exact same generic content.

Patience and google for "early alpha" is all ya need. I feel like its beyond many what an alpha is.

I thought development would go a little faster with all these millions they got.

Hiring more people and stuff you know.

I agree with the other comment... but to save you time. No and no. Mistlands is a WIP, the discussions here and announcements show the images of progress. Caves for Mountains is a WIP. New armor and some other homey stuff was added. Something bad lurks in the Swamps. Mistlands is supposed to bring a new biome and other stuff. There will likely be another boss. They also plan to do more for certain existing areas down the line.
https://valheim.fandom.com/wiki/Roadmap & https://valheim.fandom.com/wiki/Development_Plans_for_2021 this link is the old Roadmap for what was planned but they've decided to scrap it and make Mistlands a priority with small stuff to follow after.
