In addition to marking where you die mark and name locations of resources. Berries, thistle, mushrooms and tin deposits....
These items will respawn after a week in game if not sooner. It helps to know their exact location when it comes to food and potion creation.

I think it's a double left click, also you can choose the marker icon you want to use in bottom right. Also zoom map in first for best accuracy. Left click on same marker will put a red line through it (completed) right click will remove it.

Place a marker on the spot you died last, so if you die again and lose your place you'll still have a marker where your gear is at.

You can mark your previous death site btw. Look up how to use map markers real quick, then next time you die, put a marker right where your death site is right after respawning.

Makes it much easier to keep track of death sites if you get killed again.

Your last death marker (on map) remains until you die again. When you are going on a corpse run its a good idea to put your own marker on the original death before you leave by zooming the map. This way if you die again you still have the loc.

the gravestone will remain but it wont appear on the mini map. I am kinda new too and discovered this today!
