Candyland?

Long time player from when the game first launched here. Decided to play again after the Mistlands update and what the heck?

Back at launch finding resources was a huge challenge. I mean when you found some tin nodes or a skeleton cave you felt good about yourself. Took me weeks to get enough cores to make a smelter.

Heck, I remember it took weeks and several boat trips for me to find a village that housed flax. But when I did it was a good feeling.

Now I can’t go 10 feet without bumping into resources galore. My map looks like a pin cushion with so many things marked.

Please, if you are going to make this game Candyland, at least make an option to go hardcore or something.

Of course, what you say is true, that resources have always been distributed in this way, but there is nothing objectionable or "ridiculous" about the post. This is not stupid at all. Damn - get a hold of yourself.

Where is your anger coming from? Just because you don't share his opinion? Difficulty or world options have always been a major point of criticism. Justifiably!

Right now they are working on difficulty levels - I would also like to have world options and turn off the portals for anyone on the map, possibly be able to turn off mini map or map completely too, sliders for resources and enemy difficulty. I would very much welcome this.

Brother in christ it's either a bait post or OP was painfully bad when he started out. There is no in-between, if someone needs weeks literally weeks to get like 5 cores it says more about the player then the game. Resources in this game were never hard to obtain
yeah i would agree if it take multiple weeks for a few cores it's a massive skill issue

You are seriously the first one I've seen to complain about something this silly...
WEEKS to find the cores? I remember on launch day I emptied 2 or 3 dungeons and got all my cores...

Also they are working on difficulty, but I doubt it will change much about resource spawns, maybe resource drops but even.

This is such a ridiculous post.

It has gotten easier for sure and dev promises are worthless. But I have to agree with most of the folks here. It is often simply that some maps are crap and others are not when it comes to resources...

That would be very nice.

Could have been RNG, but didn't feel that way. Nodes are everywhere. Nothing is a challenge to locate.

I'm about 99.5% I'm remembering things right. =/ But it was a long time ago. Game feels much too easy at this point. Also Swamps felt more challenging than Mountains and Plains. Deathsquito's used to be something feared and Fuling's are a joke at this point. Something had to be tweaked combat wise. Parrying a striking a Deathsquito use to be a challenge and they use to hit hard.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll just keep plugging along. One thing is for sure...Finding resources will never be a problem.

I’m 99% sure you’re just remembering things wrong. My main world is the same one I’ve made since about a month after the game first released 2 years ago, and I haven’t noticed any difference between the areas I generated back then and the new areas I generated while exploring mistlands.

Flax was always a 20% spawn chance at a village, and it still is. My first village I raided all the way back in March 2021 had flax, and another one that I raided before I had 5 totems did as well.

As for surtling cores, I didn’t even need to leave the starting island for the 10 I needed to continue, there were always about 2-5 per dungeon and there were plenty of dungeons around to get that amount.

The only stuff that really changed was that they added more minor POI, but most are irrelevant resource wise (or house entirely new resources) except for a rare fuling stone building that holds 1 totem.

You’re just remembering your experiences with bad rng, as the major progression structures haven’t really been touched

No, it was never anything close to that, even at launch, but besides changes in others biomes, I also believe they increase the spawn rate of black forest dungeons at some point. You don't need to concern yourself with those pesky problems right now, the real long term time consuming challenge is to maintain a good reserve of the best food without spending to much time doing so, which given the current state of the game, it is a blessing and curse at the same time.
