Wood iron poles are B**t ugly
I've seen videos on covering them up, but I've tried both regular wood beams and core wood, and they stick out no matter what. Is there any way to get the structural reinforcement without having to look at 'em? I'm using the HD textures, which I've been very happy with. Maybe the originals are easier to hide. I'd hate to have to go back to default just to get rid of the eyesore.

It is really REALLY easy to snap a wooden beam, or a darkwood beam to a iron beam for added strength, you using mods, no idea what to tell you, mods can cause problems like you are experiencing.No mods, just the HD textures.
Well, that is a mod.
Corewood does not snap inside the iron beams, normal wooden beams and darkwood do.
Luckily with this patch better controller support was added.

Sure, I can snap regular beams or corewood over them, they just don't seem to line up properly, and I still get parts of the iron sticking through. I'm having trouble getting snap points right on more complicated structures. I suspect that might be the problem, making sure each layer is on the right snap point.

just put a dark iron beam on top of a wood iron pole

I use an Xbox controller. But I hold the LB to manually move the beam. Or I use them with stone and LB the stone to cover them.
