I think there should be an option to keep items on death
Well, I can already tell this is gonna either get ratio'd or people are going to say "No it doesn't or just git gud." OK, first, I loaded up the game and started looking at a map to try and figure out where my teammate was a grey dwarf killed me right at spawn. One of my pet peeves in these sort of games is loss of inventory cause if I die in a area with a ton of strong enemies then I lose patience quickly cause that's just a b*** move. Only reason I haven't uninstalled the game and not look back is cause it's one of the few games I can play with my friends without my crappy laptop overheating. If you want to play with the drop on death on, fine, go ahead, test your mettle as much as you want, don't care. But for me and others that would just rather play a game with friends this is just too punishing to the point I'm really, really, REALLY close to rage quitting cause I play games to have fun and it isn't fun for me to be dropping all my items on death. Either way, glad I got this out there, pretty sure what I'm saying will go on deaf ears or people will try to tell me "This game isn't for you." But, eh, got my thoughts out there at least.

There is a workaround; some call it cheating, but if it is a make or break thing for you, who cares? Do a google search for valheim console commands - the fandom wiki has a good write up on it. What you want to do is, when you die and drop stuff you absolutely have to have, go into the console and enable god mode. Then just walk in and get your stuff, just remember to turn off god mode (and other special modes you need for god mode) before resuming normal play.
Now with multiplayer it is a bit more complicated because of the server, you probably need a mod for that, but maybe someone knows how to do it without.
