I made a pen in my base to breed Lox. Small cage, can only hold 4 at a time. But, I take two outside the base as they reach maturity each time.

I have probably around 50 or so roaming outside the base. This protects the base, nets me tons of neck,boar and deer meat, hides, dark metal, gold, etc, etc.

It's a never ending revolving door of goods.

Mixing animals does not limit breeding numbers from my experience. I have a boar pen that will breed 5 boars, I added Wolves and they breed 5 wolves.

Is this maxed? has everything stopped breeding even when fed?

If you are going for mass production of meat, you should consider making elevated breeders. This way you wont have any limitation on quantity, but your FPS could suffer a bit 😅 Search yt for boar, wolf or lox breeder.
