Vampires as you might know them originate from Icelandic lore, the precursors of the Nosferatu, but the vampires most modern society knows more hail from the regions of Romania and Turkey during the Crusades. There may be a conflict of culture.

Draugr in Norse lore was the term used to refer to an undead viking inhabiting his own burial mound guarding the treasures buried with him upon death. It has very little to do with what we think of as vampires, and is more akin to a ghost. I hope they do not bring vampires into the game, what usually follows is werewolves, then players being able to transform themselves into pandas.

Get in line behind all the furries that wanted to be werewolves first.

would be cool, if there were vampires like the fenring cultists

i know it gets a bit away from the lore. but apparently there were vampires in nordic mythology after doing some 5 minute googling. but they were actually called draugers..... but like i got a lot of ideas on how you could put it into the game. it would be so super duper cool.

+ Draugr are not very vampire-like. It's more like a undead, creeping in his grave around or in the area around it, bad sign for people who seen them and a warning for the own death. There are some different history ways to interpret this, but most time it's "the living dead".

At one point you use Dragur entrails as an ingredient for food so its much worse than that.

We already have undead bloodsuckers, assuming everything in Valheim is undead, which might not be an outrageous assumption. They're called ticks. Got leeches too.

Considering what frost resist potions and stuffed mushrooms are made of are you sure your character isn't one already?
