Moder hitbox and melee aiming issues

Moder is by far the most frustrating boss to fight. Outside of spending hours or days of modifying the terrain to offer a more flat surface, melee combat with Moder is damn near pointless in 90% of the maps I have played. I am not sure where the hit-box is for this boss, but legs and lower torso seem to not be a part of it. This wouldn't be so bad if you could actually aim your melee and not just swing in front of you. I end up wasting so much stamina either swinging at what I assumed was part of a hit box or just under Moder beating the ground. I also don't want to spend 30-45 actual minutes shooting arrows at the dam things nonsense hit-box either. This is very much an issue, the only one I really have, but it is infuriating wasting so damn much time and energy on this boss because the hit-box makes no sense and the character cant swing up or down...

if i can't flatten the summon spot i find a better spot, flatten that one and kite Moder to that location, that boss has never been an issue, also i found that if i get up really close the breath attack will miss almost every time.

I guess they are all fairly easy, but in the half dozen times I've fought Moder, he's been even easier then Eikthyr using proper tiered gear for when you're doing the encounter.

I'll admit tho, I don't do a lot of melee on Moder. Mostly just poison arrows, an occasional fire arrow for the DOT.

I have maxed out silver gear when I take on Moder. Not one of the dozen or so times I have fought that fight, has it taken less than 20 actual minutes. I usually have time to run out the Bonemass perk, recharge it, and use it again before Moder goes down. A lot of that is fighting the mountain terrain and stamina drain from doing so. Melee does so much better damage, but both melee and arrows are affected by the odd hit-box. None of the other bosses come close to being so difficult and their hit-box's make sense.

Bonemass has usually been one of the easiest bosses to take on for me. A couple poison resists potions, a couple health potions, a mace, and 5 minutes tops. I actually usually do Bonemass back to back to get the trophy pick up out of the way for my trophy wall.

I am curious how you can manage your stamina, while dodging on a mountainside with no cover to regain your stamina. The light stamina potions available at that point don't help a lot especially with the cool down. I just don't see how it can be done faster than 30 min with a bow, even the maxed out Drauger bow. I die at least once almost 30% time in that fight too, usually from stamina loss. If the hit-box made sense, it would go a lot faster.

I'm guessing it's probably just the difference in our fighting styles. I don't mess with the terrain at all for Moder. I use the rocks, trees and hills to hide behind when he does his shard attack. Basically use almost no stamina for movement except maybe a quick/short sprint to dodge the shards. All my stamina goes in to using the bow. I usually only use one stam pot and nothing else for Moder. I suppose I could fight him again to time it as it tends to go pretty much the same way every time, but it isn't too long.

Twice now Moder went down in under ten minutes to arrows for me, no issues hitting the target.

Also when she lands on a mountainside so you can't reach her without sliding down the mountain.
