Modding the game

I have just started playing again and decided to try out some mods but I can't seem to get them to work. I have tried installing them both manually and via vortex. Vortex has them all listed as enabled and I load the game through Vortex but no luck. Is there else I should be doing? Any pointers would be greatly appreciated as I am not that experienced when it comes to using mods. Thank you.

WeMod has a Trainer for Valheim... I just went into my WeMod and saw it there. I haven't tried it but it has about 18 toggles from god mode to game speed.

I have used there mods for a ton of games and they're 96% workable. :steamhappy::steamthumbsup:

Did you install BepInEx, the one thing necessary for mods to work? Did you install your mods dependencies?

Manual instructions:
Go to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Valheim
Copy everything from inside
into it.
For all the mods you want put their .dll files into
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Valheim\BepInEx\plugins

Short of conflicts, broken mods, or failing to read the dependencies lists for your mods and install those as well, that's it. It's simple.

I hate both the managers. Manual is simple and works 100%, vortex does weird ♥♥♥♥ and fails to update things, also ♥♥♥♥ nexusmods, and the thunderstore modman doesn't do a damn thing. Manual is the way to go, you know what files are where versus some bloat ♥♥♥♥ doing god knows what.

EDIT: thanks Steam, thanks for turning a code block into a link, and changing the back slashes into forward slashes in the process. How the ♥♥♥♥ do I fix this ♥♥♥♥, it's already a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ code block. ♥♥♥♥ you Steam.

It would probably help to identify the mods so someone who uses them could help you.
In addition there should <maybe> be a readme.txt file attached to the mod.
If they are supposedly enabled, you might have to do something specific for
them to show up.
In the vanilla game you often have to move something in/out of your inventory
for a recipe to appear or find a specific ingredient.
