Thanks for all the comments!:-) I was just so supprise of this Swamp thing...I have not even found the swamp yet,and they did not attacck my Base,but I was far from it..it lasted 4-5 days,until I went into the red circle (with new made weapond and armor) I allready had 2 dead stones there,I killed a few of them..they dissapear,the red circle was gone,,so I thought it was safe to pick my cart and stuf up from the water,then a new event started and here we go again...but at least now I knew what to do.....;-)

I strongly recommend fortifying all of your bases in preparation for just such events.
They become a lot easier and fun depending on how you construct your defences.

I know its a bit difficult to make out, but behind the spike walls in the below image, i've dug a trench from the ocean in land and then back out to the ocean. This creates a water filled trench that slows and direct enemies.

All you need is the pick.

it's actually 1-2min long depending on raid
but you can make it endless raid if you just get outside of red circle
when you are outside of raid area then raid timer is frozen but mobs keep spawning

This is part of the raid event system in the game. Defeating each boss progresses the raid events to the next level. Because you beat the Elder, raids now involve swamp monsters.

Yep and it can last an entire night. If you smell sulfur in the wind surtlings will come and burn you down and can get trolls too. Deep moats and stone walls are a priority if you do not want them breaking your stuff.

The best base is one built on a small island away from shore so you can't be attacked at all. My main base is on an island large enough for a few good sized building and some farming, and above storm surges. It can only be approached by boat. With no-spawn items spread out I now get raid warnings but nothing ever shows up as it doesn't have anywhere to spawn in. I have other bases but having a save fallback if everything goes massively wrong is nice. It also means if I want to chill, build, farm, and fish, I can do so with no worries

When u beat the elder , there start the swamp events that attacks ur base , trolls may attacks too
