Again it’s not about how hard it is. It’s about efficiency. Clearly they added farming & livestock for that reason, it’s more efficient than running around finding boars to kill.
Or running around finding carrots & onions.
It may be different programming that is required. Nothing that replenishes by itself (berries, mushrooms, thistles, etc) can be farmed. All things that can be farmed drop seeds that time must be taken to plant, harvested after they grow, and then replanted to make more seeds.
Berries don't grow in the same biome IRL you have to have the right soil conditions, seasons, and water (cranberries, blue berries, and raspberries as examples). Lots of different IRL mushrooms can't be farmed.
When there are times that I don't feel like doing anything challenging I'll just run around and gather. At least you can use portals unlike mining ores where you have to take time, mod, or cheese the game to move the ores and metals.

I'm pretty sure they intend to keep the distinction between grown ingredients and foraged ingredients. They motivate two separate kinds of activities.
I would like it if some tech upgrades would allow us to plant or relocate ingredients from earlier tiers. Those berry bushes have a lot of decorative potential. And it could be just one more small way to help players get back up to speed after a huge loss. I'm sure mods exist that already make that possible. Use at your own discretion.

Farming carrots and onions and turnips is definitely more efficient. I think it is because one cannot find carrots and onions and turnips in Valheim; one can only find carrot seeds, onion seeds, and turnip seeds.
Farming is not a matter of efficiency. It is a matter of necessity if one wants carrots or turnips or onions.
As for deer as livestock, yes, it is used a such by Lapps by Lapps who have no alternative and bred in the United States of America because the U.S. Depatment of Agriculture will not allow the commercial sale of wild meat. Vikings, however, had alternatives and did not have the USDA so they did not tame deer. So they did not tame deer.

Maybe try to locate and enclose a deer spawn point within a fence. Add portals.
That's all I can think of.

I'd like to plant them for aesthetic reasons, myself. I have a modded game for that tho. they really do want you to grab that kind of thing on the fly while you're doing something else and that can be pretty annoying for some players who would rather grab them once and then add to their farming scheme.

No to both, as in yes they have said no.
Thanks for the information. ^^Deer are plentiful in the meadows and black forest. In the early game I always have more deer meat than I need even when I'm breeding boars.
Berries always regrow in the exact same places. If you find large groups of bushes just put a pin on the map so you can go back again later when the berries have regrown.
Yeah I know but going on berry runs late game is tedious to say the least. Same with deer.
You have enough to do gathering materials. Having a farm where you have everything you need for food would be nice.
Agree that being able to farm berries would be nice. Berries can be farmed IRL. Deer cannot really be tamed IRL, though, so there's that. There's also the fact that you need very few deer later in the game (as someone else mentioned). And honestly, later in game, when your Run skill is high and you can tank up on high-stamina foods, a berry/mushroom run should take almost no time at all, at least if you've marked map locations.

People have deer as livestock. Specifically Reindeer. Also it's a game, you tame wild boars. Have you met a boar in the wild? Try to tame one & see how that goes.

Yeah i agree with you on berry bushes, i find it a bit absurd. So far the only thing being against being able to plant/relocate berry bushes is because they want to encourage you to "explore" by foraging. However, as people say to just "mark" the bushes, just turns it into being a rudimentary task. Some people might enjoy it, but like your edit mentions, you can do it for boars, amongst other things. You originally couldn't plant fine wood trees, but now you can. We'll have to see what they do. If anything, they could do it so you can relocate the berry bushes via cart, and moving back and forth to move them to your base. As it seems that that sort of gameplay loop is quite prevalent.

Planting berry bushes would be nice for base design, but it wouldn't really make a difference for resource gathering. They are very plentiful.
Deer are good at the very beginning of the game, but then they're not very useful for advanced recipes.

I just plunk a portal in the center of a bunch of pins. Then while I'm doing something that takes some time (like smelting) I just run out and hit all the pins quick. Its not really any more tedious than any other resource gathering part of the game and I usually find 3 or more deer each time I gather berries. In fact its faster to gather berries if you include the time it takes to grow material to feed your tame creatures. Its lots more trouble to gather yellow mushrooms for stamina meads. No to both, as in yes they have said no.

They have stated the intent that there are going to be resources (other then metal) that you will have to go out exploring for. Map pins for thistle, berries, and mushrooms will give you a huge amount of spots to hit up when you need more.
Or you could dev command place growing stuff or use mods that let you plant all things if that’s what takes your fancy. Honestly the gathering stuff is not often in short supply.

you get deer casualy by walking around after you tamed some wolves and let them roam free close to your base (if its in mistlands).
