the game is finished as far as I'm concerned, I saw this happen before these posts yeld no results.

I remember them saying they were starting Mistlands right after HH release, with only a few team members working on other proyects (like abominations or ice caves). That means it's been over a year...

Why the rush to get it all done at once though? Is there a need?

Incredibly doubt it considering at least 3 biomes are not done.

I'm afraid the only changes occurring to "finished" biomes will likely be related to Mistland changes collaterally. One of the devs recently pointed out that updates to existing biomes shouldn't be expected at this time. It was actually here on a steam thread, might have been Smiffe.

And yes Mistlands will likely be the biggest update to the game to date , for sure.

mistlands is the only unfinished "interior" biome, unless you count oceans.

so, with mistlands, the game will be brought much closer to overall completion because there wont be any empty biomes except for the poles, which can be avoided because they have a fixed position.

An interesting theory, getting v !.0 early, but to say the developers need a 'saving grace' is a bit over the top.

The game is in EA. EA means things change to include time tables. EA is EA no matter how much people would like to change what that entails.

But who knows, maybe you will be proven right.

I haven't seen any hints of the other biomes being worked on so, no, I would not want them hastily slapped together at the last minute like a high schooler who forgot they had an essay due.

The "saving grace" is that they are supposedly working on an entirely new game play mechanic included in Mistlands update.

When playing a EA title, always expect that things are going to take a while. Actually to expect to be spoonfed updates regularly in EA is a bit absurd, they'll iterate when they are good and ready to iterate the thing they are building.
