the game doesnt keep running in areas you are nOT present... so lthe lox "pause" eating so pop back and they will go eat (well i just run around and drop Cbs near my damaged lox... cos they only seem to Repair-eat once per game day.. ie 1300+ health added... if theyve eaten for they day already they show a +0 or +1 sometimes in green above them.

I have been doing the same thing, I have a herd of Lox in a biome that has meadow, swamp, snow, and black forest all with in a minute run of each other. They have knocked down every tree, they kill swamp creatures (very effective against the big swamp mob but they are poor against the oozes/poison). They have trouble with the Drakes but mostly because the drakes spawning on a spiral mountain (I could mine this down to reduce that issue) I only feed the ones in the swamp now, and only if I see their life is getting low. I try to avoid being at my base to long because of the shear amount of murder that takes place outside my windows. If I need leather, or meat, or any other materials I can run around and collect it from the Lox kills. I also have a Lox farm in the plains and used them to help me bring down the plains boss, and farm plains materials.

Oh yeah, you do NOT want to anger them. They will rip up pretty much EVERYTHING they can.

"Oh theres a deer over there" stampede time.
Many many times I see them fighting the Tar monsters and grays that wander into the plains.

I like how tamed lox is a huge, meaty, juicy bloodbag for an average deathsquito, but wild lox is a big no-no
I can get behind the idea that fulings, being a somewhat sentient specimens, can differentiate between tamed lox and wild lox, but squitos...

Never tamed one, would like to though one day. If you can tame it far enough from the base to not damage it and close Enough it can bash enemies would be nice. Maybe lox could be good for taming near biome boarders so it can just keep farming mobs for you ???

I tamed them so they'd stop attacking my base, dude. Just throw out a few stacks of berries and walk away. Good enough.

ffs they cause so much damage, especially with difficulty enhancing mods.

When they are tamed, though, they're like roaming mafia defending my plains.

I pay them strictly in berries, and in a timely manner.

Remember that lox alert range is the worst of the game , same for tamed ones , if a troll , wolfs from hunting event or swamp mobs are really close to them ,sure will defend

I feel you. I was extra sad when I realized lox didn't have commands like wolves. And no breading, they are pigs, except you cannot breed them. Guessing they are on the list of "content to add", but at the current state a tamed lox is nearly worthless.
