Any reason to keep structural integrity on private server? Has it always been this buggy?
I want to keep the integrity because it's more immersive but for the last couple hours ive been doing half cabin test builds that are PERFECTLY mirrored... and i mean perfectly beam for beam. For example i will have 8 to 10 rows of a base with a roof outline... 9 out of 10 of those rows will have perfect integrity and the same exact other piece (mirrored 1:1 ratio) will fall apart... Also same exact setup and some beams will be green.. some will be orange... some will be blue. It's way too annoyingly buggy. I have over a 100 hours but just came back to the game this week. Just looking for any game reasons (like builds falling apart on updates if you don't use integriy) to turn it on. As of right now it's pathetically broken so i rather not use it. thanks for any info.

The hoe does not flatten ground perfectly, and the gaps between a piece and the ground can be invisible. If a piece is not blue, it is not grounded. The devs could fix this with fuzzy logic, but that could result in builds where if you hunker down you can see that a blue post is floating barely above the ground.
You can use clipping to force a structural post into the ground by attaching a smaller post and blending, but idk whether this translates to blue all the way up. You could also use the raise ground feature of the hoe, raising and flattening until you get blue. You have to do this for every structural piece if your build is ambitious.
Imho, the build system could stand a complete re-thinking. For instance, we can only rotate pieces in one dimension. There is no way to create our own pieces and add them to the sub-assembled pieces. I hope the devs will not spend any time debugging the current system, but I hope for a lot of things.

Seeking an answer to this is going to need downloads and/or a lot of screenshots.

I think what's happening is you understand what i'm saying and you just don't believe that Just because you mirror a part across a plane does not mean it is ok at the other end. Did you have support going across at the bottom when mirroring pieces? Was the other side done before mirroring? There are so many factors here that are variables from all your posts.
I lost interest when you told me how I am thinking.. Take care, I'm out.

every facet of every section is mirrored and or the literal same build. For example i even tried it on floor pieces.... on solid ground / soil... also ive mirrored across and laterally. I think what's happening is you understand what i'm saying and you just don't believe that it's happening >< which is cool i mean you wouldn't be replying if you weren't trying to help.
But yes from what i gather from other people its just buggy. Again there is not one facet of the build that i have tested that is not 100% mirrored in every way possible. "did you have support going across at the bottom"? for example.. yes. for the 8 or 9 sections that are 100% the EXACT same .. the build works... which is why im sure it's a bug because 90% of the time the build has been working.

Sounds like to me one is on flat ground and another isnt.
yeah i thought that too before i posted so i tried it again on solid ground (earth), then floor pieces, then floor pieces with beams underneath it in earth.. i guess im just going to have to accept that it's early access :) which is fine.

I've had buildings where a blue piece is bordered by dark red pieces. It's real buggy. Some players buid skyscrapers, but it's notoriously broken, yeah.
When returning to the game, one may easily forget that each time a piece is added, the whole structure is recomputed, and this can take several seconds. If you defocus too fast, you can think last focused piece was blue or green, whereas it is orange or red after computation!

I didn't realize structural integrity was something you could just turn off without a mod. Or is that what you mean.

Build one section of a building... said building has integrity and does not break. Literally build the same section 9 more times and it's random if said section falls apart and breaks or not. That's all im saying just don't overthink it. I build the same layout multiple times and the game randomly gives it integrity or it randomly doesn't and falls apart.

With valheim plus (dedicated server gportal for example).. you can change settings like other survival games (ark, conan). One of the settings is for example.. buildings can't be damaged or turn structural integrity off. With it off you can actually have floating pieces and you can build without the game checking structural integrity (like when beams turn red because there is no support)
