Getting a ship back into the water?

Hypothetical scenario, since we've considered parking our ship on land a few times, but sided against it due to unknowns.

If we park a ship mostly on land, exactly how would we go about getting it back into the water BESIDES reconstructing it?

I prefer to swim to shore this way no one messes with it.

Without reconstructing it? first thing that comes to mind would be digging it out. Second thought would be - wait for high winds/storm with large waves. Third idea (no clue if this would work on land) would be to build things you could push against from the inside of your boat.

Hold shift[PC] while pushing on it? Sometimes I get partially or wholly hung up on land (like it was wet when the storm was here kind of thing) and I just keep pushing on one end and then the other to slowly walk it down to the water's edge.

Try shoving it back in. May not seem like a player character should be able to move a boat, but they can, somewhat.

You could try building like a ship dock around it. It's what a friend and I have done a few times. It works pretty well and prevents the ship from just floating away on its own.

For a great berthing just dig out a patch on shore, about knee deep water.
Give it a palisade and a gate and viola.
No waves, touches ground (in the shallow water), but no damage, water holds it upright. Can sail it in and out. If too close to deep water you may get waves. If so it's no good.

smack it, you get 100% of the mats back
just go grab enough wood to make a workbench to rebuild it

use the hoe and 'build up' beside it. eventually it will get to the water.

You should be parking your ship in a box, back at base through your newly fashioned portal. Not a joke.

I frequently shape the shore to have the ship in very shallow water or beached a bit. Its fine, you just row it back out or push on it if it gets stuck. If you ram it way up onto shore you need to dig it out or smooth enough to slide it. If its 50% or more still in water it should be ok but they are known to beat themselves to death in high wind, so it may deconstruct anyway.
