Drauger Elite Trophy - Well that's an easy romp in the swamps at a Drauger spawn pile; come to think of it, you could possibly get one at the Drauger spawn piles in the meadow as well.

I mean it's not like this game has .003% drop rates (or worse) like in other games I have played.

I love how the OP blames the game for awful recipe mechanics, but totally failed that he looked in the wrong place for the items he needed for an Iron Sledge. What a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Karen eh? Blame the store for his own stupid decisions.

Also, like Shurenai mentioned, why do you need an Iron Sledge to fight Bonemass? I defeated Bonemass using a level 3 Iron Mace.

1. Drauger village spawns farming I found to be an easy method for getting drauger elites. Got one last night and I wasnt even trying. You could also opt to leave a drauger spawn pile in a dungeon for such a farming method or just the other swamp ones. Really this isn't that hard.

2. If you watch on youtube, there are multiple easy methods for dealing with bonemass that do not involve using the iron sledge hammer

Most of your complaints are essentially a user end issues. Nothing more.

Why... why do you want that hammer so badly that it ruined the game for you?

I mean if you just really like the hammer that's cool, just wondering. It isn't an important piece of equipment.

In case you do want to try this again, you can leave a corpse pile spawnpoint above ground or in a crypt and try farming that for Draugr Elite. They should also spawn more easily at night.

If your happiness hinges on this, you can also ask around if someone has a spare. If you are concerned about griefers, you can meet up on a fresh world.

As far as I'm concerned, there is not the slightest chance I'm going to play again. I've already uninstalled the thing. If this recipe is that awful, there are going to be more later on. At this point the game has *literally* become a waste of my time and has stopped being anything remotely fun. I shouldn't have to cheat an item from someone to make basic progress.

It's one of the more rare drops as far as weapon/armor crafting goes. Nothing that you actually need is that hard to obtain, most stuff is easy by comparison. You chose to fixate on making one (ok but not great) weapon and somehow ruined your own experience. That sucks, wish it went better for you.

Everything I do is solo, and from what I read, it was needed to deal with the adds from fighting Bonemass. I didn't want to spawn him and lose my gear because I couldn't handle the fight.

Oh. It really isn't.
The cool thing about Valheim is that there are a lot of ways to approach every situation. I guess it isn't relevant to you now, but if you ever decide to circle back after an update or 2 I think it's good to keep in mind.

I played over 2000 hours before a friend made one for me on a play through to demonstrate its value as an aoe in the sunken crypts.

Its very situational.

Great for being on top of something and splash damaging things below you, or being behind a tree or door and hitting them with the splash damage as well, while you are protected by cover.

You can't please everyone.

It is absolutely not required. I literally just killed Bonemass twice in a row in 10 minutes with a bronze mace. You don't even need iron weapons for it. You can punch bonemass to death, Adds included.

You get a swamp key every time you kill the elder; Just go kill him again to get a new one. Also, your corpse is pretty definitely still there somewhere.

And you never just 'lose your gear' when you die to a boss. There's nothing stopping you from running in and grabbing it if you plan ahead. Set up a small base with a teleporter nearby and a chest filled with one of your previous armor sets as a backup with one of each of your food of choice and a poison resist potion and a healing mead- You die? TP back, grab your backup gear, pop the food, pop the poison resist, pop the healing mead and sprint in to grab your corpse, then book it away to equip your better stuff.


The only thing that gatekept you was your strict adherence to a guide that told you the best way to cheese a boss. You probably could have killed the boss a dozen times over if you just fought him with what you had before that 20 hour grind for that one obscure item to make that one obscure weapon people only use to cheese things and not as an actual weapon.
