Too much food?
Am I carrying too much food? I find I usually carry 4-6 different foods and only 3 to 5 of each if them. Usually 2-3 of them are for keeping my belly full for around the house or exploring lowish level areas and then 2-3 foods are better tier foods for just in case I get caught unawares or decide go through a dicey higher tier biome. I like to be somewhat spontaneous with my decisions and this gives me that flexibility to go where I want with enough stats to keep me alive.
What you eat is subjective to your play style and progression, lower progression would mean you prob only have the option to take 3 foods. How much food do you keep on you? Just the bare minimum? Do you take even more food, full stacks multiple sets of 3 different foods?

I would just take 10+ of my top 3. Take more if you think you could be gone for longer. Too much is better than not enough, but actual inventory slots are precious.
I used to also take honey up until I was done with mountains because it used to have the single highest health regeneration of any food but that changed with the H&H food overhaul.

3 - Sausages, wolf jerky, bread. 20 of each, they are a bit lighter than most food and can stack up to 20. I can explore several hours this way without getting problems. Also they are suitable in this combination even for plains and everything. There are some slightly more powerful items, but this is my combination of choice.

i use 2 for HP 1 for Stamina when i expect fights, if i just "work" i use 3 for Stamina. I keep my inventory so empty as possible.

Whenever I'm planning an expedition, I usually do so with one goal in mind (e.g. resource gathering, exploring, boss fight, etc). The food I bring is dependent on that goal and the biome I'll be in. In more dangerous areas I usually use two health and one stamina food and bring a full stack of each, as I tend to spend quite a bit of time away from home. I typically don't need to bring any other types, and I like leaving as much open space in my inventory as possible.

3--any more is a waste of Inventory space, for this gamer...carry the best 3 you can cook up.
At this point, I'm only using Boar Jerky-Sausages-Wolf Skewers...more than enough for all biomes. Fishing is a tad different, mostly all stamina foods.
Boar and Wolf are easy to tame and breed for a feedback loop, entrails are plentiful in Draugr Villages via spawners, Sunken Crypts and Frost Caves in meat piles.
Farming onions and gathering mushrooms/thistle are my chill activities...FTW.

I carry 3 only and change it up depending on what I'm doing. Usually it's two stamina foods and a meat. So if I'm gardening at home then maybe a honey, a yellow mushroom and a deer meat. If I'm venturing into harder areas then the best food I've got. For most things it's sausage, and two of carrot soup, turnip stew, or onion soup.
If I'm not sure what I'm up to or just generally wandering and adventuring I carry a portal and have an unconnected but named one at my base. Then I can pop the portal down and go home to dump stuff and pick up more or different foods as needed.

For me right now, sausage+boar jerky+queens jam. Might switch out queens jam for wolf jerky soon. Almost always have them maxed, worst thing would be being stranded without food. So annoying.
I go health over stamina since i'm pretty good at maintaining my stamina.

I take 3 kinds. I only use "good" food for "hard" content, otherwise it's easy to make stuff that I can stack to 20. I couldn't imagine taking 6, that's way too much inventory space.

Im still wonder when devs gonna expand inventory , adds and adds full of crap to carry each update but not expand inventory slots never
Even an item that can expand it with the price of 10k gold i dont care , just i hope they add it soon

Typically carry 4 or 5 foods to switch around as needed. So it ends up being 6 slots used between food and potions typically.

definitely. And just like blankitosonic says I've always like the idea of a small lunchbox/bag you can put in your inventory to hold like 4-6foods /pots Typically carry 4 or 5 foods to switch around as needed. So it ends up being 6 slots used between food and potions typically.
