losing items

I have been primarily playing on a dedicated server but today I used the same character on a local save and upon starting the world all my food, potions, and arrows just disappeared from my backpack inventory. Unfortunately I didn't notice this until I went back to the dedicated and now the backup is overwritten. Is this some anti-dupe protection the game now has?

Probably not. You can easily duplicate whatever you want (including the stuff you lost) with the devcommands. Potential loss of data is a problem with any pile-of-files database (and why I hope IG will someday put the data in SQLite, making data corruption much harder)

If you had cloud sync on, See if you can find a character copy here: https://store.steampowered.com/account/remotestorage

CTRL F to find Valheim, then Show Files to see files.

No. You should keep everything on you. Probably a mod issue. Either the server or you are using mods and the other doesn't or it's different mods...

You get the problem. Disable all mods, and try again.
