Question about a certain stone formation Point of interest.

Hello,
I've played this game a bit and even dug up some unique things from the points of interest, like the ruin boat formation. and grave. But i can never figure out if you're suppose to do something with the 7 giant rocks in a circle formation in the meadows.

I've tried digging around them (Can't even break them). But end up finding nothing in the end. anyone got any info about them as i can't find any on youtuber or Wiki? :|

many thanks in advance.

I've made a large base in one of my play through's. Initially I made an elevated fort connecting each rock to each other and then eventually added walls down to create a fairly large hall. Took quite a bit of time.

Ignore the odd tower thing. Used a pine tree to create a watch tower with a platform / portal at the top - eventually got rid of all the scaffolding.

I've never seen enemies attack earthen walls, as they are terrain modification and not a construction menu object. Same goes for trenches. Basically, if you make a steep enough terrain wall, they cannot modify or path through them but will hit anything they can reach or throw far enough to reach.*
They will attack every other type of construction though, if they cannot directly attack a player.

*drakes are exempt from this, they just fly over it and ignore terrain.

Saw a post months ago where a player said he built a base in one of these. He liked the idea of incorporating those 7 indestructible rocks in his defenses.

So one of those formations is where I built my current main base. Raised earth walls six to eight meters in height between the giant stones to form an outer perimeter. The greylings, greydwarves, trolls, skeletons, and draughr seem disinclined to climb over these walls. A viking with decent stamina can do so easily.

The base has a small footprint especially at ground level. Most of the living and working areas are on an upper level anchored to either those indestructible giant rocks or earthen columns raised for the purpose.

No room for animal pens and crop fields. I placed those on a bare hillside a couple of hundred meters away, outside of the red circle appearing during raids and events. Not very convenient when planting or harvesting or feeding boar but it keeps animals and crops safe.

Strategy during raids so far is to hop ever earthen walls at one point, lead raiders on a merry chase around the main base structure but still inside red circle. Hop back over earthen walls if things get dicey. Recover health and/or stamina. Then hop back out over earthen walls to renew the chase. Works well so far. Got killed one time when I had to answer the doorbell during a raid.

Killed Bonemass yesterday so now I will see how it fares with drakes.

Forgot a question or two I know many will ask. I started the stone circle base after killing Elkthyr. Needed that antler pickaxe to whack boulders for the stone. Used core wood for framing.

Yes, it did take a lot of time and effort. I like expending my time and effort in building, rather than rebuilding and rebuilding and rebuilding.

Once I could build a stone cutter, I replaced the earthen support columns with stone to get more interior space on the ground floor. I did not replace the outer earthen walls with stone walls. From my experience, enemies are much more likely to attack and breach wood and stone walls than they are earthen walls.

I don't know why I've never dug around in the centre of it (I would guess if something is hidden there it would be in the middle) when I've been meaning to try for a long time now. :lunar2019smilingpig:
Be sure to take a wishbone (acquired from Bonemass) with you. It will tell you if any treasure is they right away with minimal digging.
Oh damn, yes i forgot about the wishbones. Been a while since i've used them (Only really used them to farm silver in the mountains and that's about it. I'll have to give it a try. But really appreciate the info.

I dug around there i think maybe when it was 4 or 5 weeks into the game when it first came out (Took me a while to beat the first boss with a friend) but we never really uncovered anything) just a crater that looks like a meteor that just smashed into centre of it) XD

Hell, even I do! I have always thought those particular structures were just eye candy. Never thought to try my wishbone around it to see if there are treasures there too.
XD thought he was talking about the boss stones and trolling us. I see the error of my ways, post deleted with apologies.
If i was talking about the boss stones i would of mentioned it, (Forgot to put that in the main description and confused some people). But i have a few hours put into this game when it came out and played quite a bit to understand about the bosses and beat them all. But never really got into the digging the ruin's part of the game. But no i was not trolling at all.
