2-3 can probably take down a Fuling Berserker if you guide him into them , you can probably use them in the plains to farm black metal, or put them at a building corner and make enemies step in it by making them come after you around the corner. They will probably make bosses take less damage from them or just not work on bosses, or just outright destroy the trap if a boss steps on it.

i like to dig a trench around my base, it totally prevents your buildings from getting thrashed.

I would be fine with it doing like 10 damage and holding them stuck for say 30 seconds.

Some defensive things are not so obvious to some players.

People have taken down bosses for example with campfires. Windmills can take down some flyers (albeit impractical).

But yes, those troll traps look terrifying.

Because really you can cheese all the game with a trap like that not loosing any material or have only 1 time use
