Yes, but it depends on your system. For me no change. Others better fps and others worse fps. Try it and see.

Mine's an RTX 2060 super, which does it handle better?

some graphics cards have better fps with vulkan, some don't. try it and see. Theres an fps counter in the Valheim settings, my 2070 super went from 70fps to 130 (1440p, max settings)

Vulkan offers better performance and resource management
DirectX is more compatible and less likely to cause issues

My two cents, always use Vulkan when possible, if you experience any problems switch back to DirectX

AMD is Vulcan

I have an RTX 2080 and I found across both Vulcan games i've tried - Valheim and Ghost Recon Breakpoint - I'm gaining approximately a 20fps improvement. It's the bees knees for me.

The non vulcan one is illogical ...

If you have a raytracing card use Vulkan

GTX 980Ti here. I've had better performance and fewer crashes with Vulcan.

Seriously though, Vulkan can offer much better performance, but it depends entirely on your PC. Vulkan made the game unplayable on my old rig with a RTX 2070 and a Ryzen 7 2700. Caused all sorts of graphical glitches and artifacts.
On my new PC with a RTX 3080 and a i7-10700kf, well, I won't know until I actually get to the point where my framerate actually drops any.

I get 60FPS with Vulkan and 90FPS without Vulkan.
