Why is mob respawn in swamp dungeons so fast?!?

As soon as I kill one of the Draugr another one spawns on bone pile. They hit too hard to me to just run in and tank them while targeting the bone pile. I've even gotten lucky positioning where the part of muddy pile blocked them so i could just kill them over and over but that doesn't really help with spawn.

In cases where their path isn't blocked as soon as I open up that area I get wave after wave chasing me down. I can't even get back into the same room as bone pile because they come out when i'm 3 rooms over and as soon as I kill one a few seconds later as I'm killing the second another appears. Even fully rested with iron weapons my stamina and damage aren't enough to combat an instant spawn swarm.

WTH is up with this!?!

Use a bow and shoot the pile to stop the respawn. I don't know why anyone doesn't use the bow more often, except they are stubbornly opposed to fighting with their brains rather than brawn.

Or the bone pile is out of site behind an alter or another muddy scrap pile. Sometimes you just need brawn.

It didnt always work out great. But when I died, at least they were still stuck in that room when I came back for my corpse.

This is how I did it too.

That's just the way the spawners work... It checks to see if there are the set amount of mobs present and, if there aren't enough, new ones spawn to replace them. It's exactly the same thing for (as an example) the Grey Dwarf spawner.... or Skeleton spawner.

As mentioned by others, you can try to use arrows to destroy the spawner, and if that isn't possible, you might have to take a few hits while you run in and manually destroy the spawner. Of course, as always, make sure you have eaten the best foods and have proper meads and rest bonus before attempting to clear dungeons.

The only thing that might give you any trouble is an elite. Even then if you have heal meads it no problem.
And if you get very lucky, an Elite will drop an Elite trophy, which is needed to make the iron sledgehammer

mmmm iron sledge... stagebreakers daddy

Another good tip is to build a camp fire in the dungeon to keep rested and you heal faster

It's challenging at first, but once you upgrade to iron gear it starts becoming fairly trivial unless you get careless. It's all part of the cycle. New biome>struggle>gear up>can take on everything>beat boss>new biome>

Stagbreaker is your best friend in the swamp dungeons. You can destroy almost everything on the other side of the scrap piles before it's even a threat to you.
