If you spent any more time beyond watching a short story driven trailer that is merely about hype generating rather then showcasing / spoiling new content - you'd have found the numerous videos showing H&H content.

For new players the trailer covers boss fights, trophies, exploration, viking theme, boating, biomes and base building / playing with friends. Kinda the gist of Valheim imo.

They PURPOSELY don't show spoilers for upcoming updates, and probably never will for ANY update, however, I agree that perhaps it shouldn't have been called a trailer for H & H, unless maybe there is more to the video that hasn't been released yet as well.

Why should they show the content in the animated short

I did not see one steak during that whole trailer :(

I'm just happy the game is still being developed unlike any other early access survival games *coughs in craftopia* . Nobody asked for an animation, but I certainly liked it.

There were a couple of clues at the end. Some of the new foods can be seen sitting alongside a lot of the existing ones. And at least one new building piece also appeared in the same scene with the wooden brackets surrounding the fireplace, carved into a woven pattern. We know that these are new content as they have been shown in in-game screenshots previously.

It is a bit of a weird one because there is not a clear divide between new gameplay elements and things that are simply artistic license. Despite revealing the date for an update focused on home activities, hardly any of it was at home.

I do agree though. After the roadmap collapsed, teasing this hard doesn't seem quite fair. Collectively they haven't let us in on a lot of new content and I worry that they've been stretching it out because there isn't actually much to show. If that turns out to be the case it will greatly influence my expectations when it comes to further updates/teasing.

Consider it as a big surprise.

Too many of you read too much into everything. I don't think the cinematic is directly for the update.

It's more to excite people and to promote. Personally I liked it.
