It's ok.

I have this on my Xbox X/S was interested in it until the marks of my death marks stayed after I revived and retrieved my items and building isn't as simple like on Mine Craft. This is a cross game of Mine Craft and Stranded(xbox x/s, xbox one platform). I give it a 5/10 stars.:steamfacepalm:

If you didn't remove your previous death marker after retrieving your stuff you didn't prepare properly.

There's no comparison with Minecraft because for all its strengths that game is entirely missing a combat engine. Valheim has more in common with Terraria than anything else.

My favorite negative reviews are those that complain about problems that don't exist. /s

Once you get the hang of it, it can be an extremely chill experience. I kill each boss on their own worlds dedicated specifically to them so I can prepare properly and only have to deal with the starting raids until I smash the bigbad, and I build my "awesome" base on its own world where I've never killed any bosses; this way I can be sure of being able to "handle my business" even if I'm only lightly armed. It also allows me to pick and choose my adrenaline-filled sessions.

It takes a while to learn how not to "run'n'gun", but once you figure out that you should keep your belly full and almost never sprint, the game can actually be quite tranquil. Blocking/parrying and dodge-roll are critical skills, too; literally life-saving.

... and all of that being said, do be aware that you will die... over and over again.
Once you get the hang of it yes..

My impression was the OP ran into issues not typical to their experience and didn't like it.
Patience I council, with promise of better days to come once enlightenment is achieved on any given Biome :D

I have a sneaking (an excellent skill to raise) suspicion that the real issue was they didn't like the fact there were probably 20 death markers piled in a heap for them to ponder every time they opened their map, mocking them and their lack of preparation and game knowledge. I keep my markers to remember my occasional need to yolo, my forgetfulness when building even after several thousand hours.
Markers are excellent reminders but maybe a bit embarrassing for a newcomer to the game.

Very possibly as I said

I like Valheim for this reason you stop being observant; or fail to prepare = you prepare to fail.

Irongate as a company on the other hand rather less impressed with but they are trying so I have some more slack yet I can cut them ;)

I get the impression his "review" was a commentary on not being able to remove the death markers from the map. Of course, it was his pure ignorance at fault, not the fault of the game.

On PC I right-click on a death marker on the map and it removes it and Xbox is B button. I give your playing skill 5/10 stars. 😉

Twice, I put this game down after a few hours of play, months in between. I fired it up again and I am now closing in on 600 days in game. It took a few tries for things to really click for me.

No I am not trying to wiseassedly say "Git Gud" I do not mean to be insulting but its is a case of you must approach each biome with a measure of respect and care.

Or you'll die over and over.
