Not enough fog in this game
Hello? Have you ever seen fog? If I can see my own hands it's not fog!
I don't understand why the developers implemented such an innovative, realistic-yet-fun feature only have it occur every-other-day or so, and when it does, it's nowhere near thick enough.
Good game design dictates that players love the element of surprise: in particular, not being able to see anything. Even in days long past, with far worse computers, games would put fog in the game everywhere! It was so immersive, and they spent so many cpu cycles just to render the fog! My computer can take it, please render a thick wall of grey only inches in front of me. Why the hell should I be able to see more than 3 meters ahead of me? THIS IS A SURVIVAL GAME.
Sitting in my regular-size longhouse on a supposedly "foggy" day, and I can still make out the middle of the room. Can still see my trophies, and worst of all, I can still farm perfectly well.
I'm not even talking about Mistlands (hello, where is the actual mist in this so-called Mistlands?)
This is where movies like the Lord of the Rings trilogy get fantasy fog completely wrong.
This is a SURVIVAL GAME, and that means really really thick fog.
Please developers, I don't want to see what I'm doing. Where's the fun in that? Please make it so Ashlands has at least double the amount of fog. And double the amount of days we have fog. Why spoil all the work you're doing for that biome if I can just walk up and look at it?

Fog so thick that you can't even see your own hands? Is it even possible for that much water to be suspended in the air without it turning into rain?

Yes it can, I grew up in a northern city in California, the fog would get so bad, you couldn't see your hand in front of you. the city would shut down because you couldn't do anything, nor drive.
that level of fog also helped the redwood forest thrive.

Not enough fog? This is completely ridiculous. I actually live in an area that has fog - very thick fog. When driving down the freeway and you can't see more than a few feet in front of you, that's thick fog. I don't mind fog in a game - up to a point. It just seems silly and not much fun if I can't even see my feet.

Some kind of ash storm with a fog-like vision impairment could fit in, I guess

Happens in the mountains all the time. The clouds come rolling down the mountains and you can literally see the transition point. Its especially a problem in the Salt Lake City Valley area when there is a temperature inversion. Fog so thick that you can't even see your own hands? Is it even possible for that much water to be suspended in the air without it turning into rain?

Oh, look, someone has had their vision impaired in a video game temporarily and is being sarcastic about it. You don't see that every day... especially on foggy ones.

while very annoying yes, fog is a real hazard. they even give you an option to remove the fog/mist. too bad the trees dont drop seeds to grow new ones though...
