This my exact reference of what I want to do or be able to do easily. I want to run a server but want to be able to backup the server each night just in case some bad apple/actor tries to screw with your server.

I think its doable but I'm still trying to find a decent host that doesn't lag or kick you off on weekends during peak hours. I personally just want to mod features on the map like fix houses etc (not so much a mod but having people help setup the initial map for everyone who comes to play on the server lie repairing the rando houses in the world, plant new trees, etc. Actually also having a community village with real people laying claims to those houses. Just you have to play with the people before you can trust them which sucks nowadays. I really just want to have people have fun on a server together. I know we don't all have the same schedules but I think it might work where you'll meet someone who does, hopefully lol

Just a word of warning, if you are wanting to have just any random join your world... be prepared for possible and likely griefing. There is no way to properly protect your home and belongings. There is a craftable item called a ward, which is supposed to "lock" your doors and chests from other players but, it merely just slows them down rather than keep them out.

With the ability to use console commands, a random could (as just one example) summon in mobs of ANY level... Ive seen posts of people encountering such griefing, discovering that someone had summoned in hundreds and hundreds of super high level trolls, which crashed the server anytime someone got near that area, and therefore almost impossible to "fix" that problem.

There is no current/future plans as far as i am aware to make a Public Server system.

The other option and one i DO NOT recommend anyone doing is putting the PW in your server name. I've seen people try this and those servers barely last a day and i honestly haven't seen those users since in the discussion boards.
Again, not something i think people should be doing and i am only mentioning it just in case you thought it might be a good idea.

If you get into this game more i can recommend getting a dedicated server, so when you are playing with randoms people can join in when they're online and not have to wait for the host. My mates server costs a mere $10 dollarydoos a month.

Oh that is SUPER simple! there are many different providers the globe over so you should simply be able to use the search engine of your choice and put in "Rent Valheim Server" I strongly suggest you check reviews of places prior to purchase too.

I personally can't recommend any as i don't really ever need to get one as my mate always has that covered. But recommendation i can make is selecting a service that is in your region.
