ive gotten enough for a mask now. im torn about the rarity. i think they should be more rare (the abomination). but at the same time that mask is really important to me in the swamp and i dont want to have to wait to get it. that mask helps me with those blobs until i get an iron mace made. i kited the guy with a ton of fire arrows. took a lot longer than killing a troll in comparison. i used about 40 arrowws on a troll with a lvl 1 or 2 finewood bow. i found flint arrows work better for trolls now. takes half as many as fire.
that bominatation tho.. tons of fire arrows. piercing does jack. tried a bronze axe.. the arrows are way safer. melee with lower gear is pretty dangerous.
to get the mask afterwards.. i dunno. yea i can be useful later with some other things. but still.
i get sick of the videos where people are saying how easy thigns are as they farm it in silver or padded gear with blackmetal weapons. yea.. no.
btw.. ive only found one geyser fountain, on one swamp biome. havent seen any others in my other swamps. those be pretty rare.
with the mask the blobs are a lot easier now and not making me sweat so hard wandering around.

literally run around the swamp like the entire swamp. everytimei just run very deep in the swamp and bait them to surtling spawners.

Wow. Atm I am waiting with 2nd boss, tried to get some iron in the swamps beforehand, just for fun. After getting my first few iron scraps and melting them, right now they are like every 20m ingame, one spawned right behind me. I really hope it will be adjusted. But before I usually found 1 per 1-2 days (very small swamp biome).

I think I saw a dev comment that they are currently spawning more than they should and that that will be fixed. They should be the equivalent of the stone golems in terms of rarity.

Personally, I've found them left and right and got the armor really quickly. Maybe try a different swamp.

afaik all spawn rates are increased at night. And yes pick rocks as you run around, the bad guys hate noises.

Just walk through the swamps with the explicit intent of NOT wanting an abomination to spawn.

I‘ve seen them also spawning in different spots in the same swamp, but yes the spawn rate is fast.

They look like tree stumps with greenish veins, and they also have a specific snoring sound when idle. Whack some rocks, chop some wood and you're sure to disturb them if any are nearby.

the only one that ive found so far spawned quite a wqays off just from me sheer preseence. dont think i have to hit trees or much honestly. lol. but i went back and havent found one yet around where i had saw it pop up.

some time at the entrance or middle you will know when close you hear tree like snapping sound and a grow/roar

i could run through a swamp biome, day or night, spawn a couple, teleport out, zone back in, run across and kill a couple more it seems. Could be once a day but doubtful.

not once a day killed one out of the swamp due to the blobs and went back in and another one popped up
