I don't find them that hard to kill with bronze/iron armor and an iron sword. Fire arrows work too, but that takes forever. A bit of healing potion is handy in case they hit you.

I just with they wouldn't spawn as often. It's annoying to spend half your time in the swamp fighting them.

They aren't too difficult to kill even with a bronze axe.

I can't comment on armour; I've always had silver-tier when fighting them due to my characters being much older than the update that added the creatures.

They're a new addition, only a few days old. Once you learn their weaknesses they aren't too bad. Fire arrows work alright, bronze bucklers can parry them fairly well, and axes shred them; a friend and I were able to kill one in about 5 seconds with two base level bronze axes, I imagine a fully upgraded bronze axe & buckler would make short work of them as would any iron gear. They're easy enough to farm before even fighting the elder without too much hassle.

I'm not saying they aren't appropriate, it's just that most of the reviews of them have mentioned using/wearing plains gear. So maybe try it with bronze and iron before you write about how difficult it is or isn't.

You can fight these guys without ever getting hit. Keep circling (side stepping) to your left. The swipe will miss you and the forward slam will also miss you and give you an opening for several hits on the rear left leg. Axe seems to work best. You're welcome.

Yeah, I refrain from saying something is "easy". I still remember running from skeletons screaming like a little girl. Nowadays, I run around the Plains where 2 star goblins and berserkers are happy to help me stay humble.

They are new last week. I find them easy enough, I logged in after the patch and went directly to the swamp to check them out. Killed 3 fairly easy. Use fire arrows at range and a frostner close up.

I found them difficult because I only have bronze weapons at this point, but I have killed two using fire arrows.

Ah... i see! Thank you for the answers. I am at iron right now and i have iron arrows. We do have fire-arrows as well, but the damage is almost nothing. Unfortunately.

I know right? Then you get the devs adding more challenging enemies to early game areas thinking 'well the players say its too easy' forgetting those players use endgame equipment. Not saying thats happening here, but it could happen.

Endgame players can just tank the damage from them. You dont even need to use a axe.

A new player can however use a terrain. Simply kite the new monster into a surfling fire inside swamp. If that is not a option, kite them outside the swamp and place down fireplaces, so it will burn itself slowly if you lack firearrows.

The Ai is kinda stupid right now tho, so you can get it stuck into other trees and just safely spam fire arrows.

Another strategy is to use a treehouse. Like i abuse it for bonemass:

I recall someone bragging how easy swamp was in silver armor. I was thinking if swamp is so easy, why did thye pass it by to go mountains 1st and get silver armor to beat the swamp. hmm
