The aggro now is ridiculous
I try to chop down trees in my meadow base by the black forest. A couple graydwarfs come up on me and before I kill them a troll rolls up too. As I run trying to get distance on them to kill them I ultimately aggro 6 graydwarfs, a brute and the troll and now I'm just trying to run away. I spent the entire night running, use my eikthyr buff, all my rested buff and still don't outrun them and I had full food buffs and unequipped my bronze armor to go faster. It was incredibly irritating. They need either fix how far they will follow you or how fast they go.

Also, ditch health foods for as long as you can, keep drinking that Honey. I swear 75% of the time people get hit, it's because they ran out of Stamina.
Stagbreaker also melts them if there's no Brutes present.

When you lure a troll in the swamp it's not for killing it, it's for the fun of watching the swamp being demolished by a big angry guy. You have a point there but agroing a troll and taking it to a swamp is a bit difficult if your still geared for Dark Forest and/or there isn't a swamp around.
I have to disagree with the pursue distance being OK, It makes running away impossible, so if you accidentally pickup up a troll when you don't have the gear for it, like you just started the game, its not going to be much fun.
For the players having trouble escaping mobs, make sure you are well rested, fully fed, not wet/cold (if possible) and sheathe your weapon, but even then we can still escape pretty much anything in the game except maybe the wolves.
Use the environnement to regain stamina when walking and run through the most efficient paths you may find.
I agree though that there are some weird spawns sometimes as i have also experienced the "troll out of nowhere" thing multiple times" but at worst you take a hit at best you hear it before he engages.
Have fun everyone !
I had a Draugr Elite that I absolutely could not outrun until I got it stuck on some terrain. I'm wondering if when an enemy decides to commit to an attack they get some kind of movement speed increase until they execute their attack. I covered about half a fairly large biome trying to shake the guy, but he was on my heels the whole way, doing his lightspeed battle shuffle.

Try sneaking away instead! Run away and with a bit distance start to sneak and lose aggro. Running makes noise and attrackts enemies.
I've used this many times to escape. It works especially well if you break line of sight with a big rock or tree before you sneak. The enemies will still approach you slowly as if they think they know where you are, but if you stay out of sight long enough they drop aggro.

don't let mobs pile up, kill them asap. kite troll in circles, slowly get swings in on everything else. take troll last, with bow if you don't like to melee it.
it doesn't happen often that you get truly gangbanged. and lol, wait for it to happen in swamp or mountains ;D
greydwarves/brutes you can WALK away from, they sure will follow tho.. just saying as it makes it really easy to dodge ther attacks while you regen some stamina.

i have to disagree here. If mobs go slower they become useless.
Aggro range and pursue distance is fine as there is nothing more satisfaying than bringing a troil right in the middle of the swamp. If they reduce it, we cannot use this to our advantage anymore.
Now that you have aggro them, deal with them.

Actually, that does sound like alot of fun to me, get ting chased by a huge troll while woefully underprepared, will sure teach me to watch what I'm doing more. The environement is hostile as it should be in a survival game. Just imagine the sense of relief when you finally find a burial mound or some other skellies to lure the troll onto and then making your escape...

I agree with your argument, but I can't abide that statement. I don't get relief. I get a mix of blinding rage at having to run from a fight, and frustration at the loss of my time. It can be super demoralizing and I get why people don't like it. Unfortunately, you can't have a survival game without it.

Well I was.. now its those fulings.. when a 2 star fuling comes.. consider me gone or finding some tall rock formation to climb so I can just kill it with a bow.. tried to block one of its hits.. still took like 100 hp from me. So I ♥♥♥♥ my self and ran like the wind.. thank god for stam pots :D

Thats . . . . . Thats . . . . . No.
Thats someone saying something with the hindsight of having already played the game through a few times.
Thats not the words of someone who is starting the game FOR THE FIRST TIME.
H&H has done something to the spawns. It's horrible now.
You can be sneaky sneak all you want, you can be AS careful as you can be with as much prep as you can. But that Troll just appears from nowhere now, and the Greys are just spawning right next to you. There is not warning, there is no lead up. There is you, resource gathering (Which is so out of whack right now, you have to gather so much and expose yourself to MASSIVE amounts of damage from mobs, just to build the smallest of things) and then there is a troll, then the're Dwarves. And then just as you think you've managed to get away, you get one shot by an angry Boar you never knew was there.
I have got to drop the game again. They really pushed their 'difficulty' level in this update.
I just can't justify to myself the amount of TIME it takes to gather everything you need to progress in the game to then be completely banjaxxed by random spawns in confusing conditions with a stamina system that just steals any joy from the game.
Its a pleasure to admire the landscape, it's a pleaseure to progress at a steady pace and learning the biomes. It's a pleasure to craft and grow your homestead and adapt to conditions. Though not neccesarily a pleasure, it's an understandable element of the game to have hard hitting enemy's and enviromental conditions.
It's a pleasure to explore. A pleasure to take you're boat out and see the wind take the sail.
But whats not a pleasure is looking for a landing spot, thinking all is quiet, try and start a foward base (stamina reduction) take out a fuling or two you spot coming (stamina reduction), work with the flying death mozzies (stamina reduction) whilst still trying to gain a foothold in building a base of sorts (stamina reduction). Run out of wood, need to cut more (Stamina reduction). Need more gear from the boat (stamina reduction) Fight another Fuling (Stamina reduction).
And before you know it, night has fallen, because you're busy still trying to manage stamina and create an escape portal (stamina reduction), then you get caught between a fuling Greydwarf mega war, with black blobs stripping you of movement and health, and then getting mozzie attack and you have nowhere to go and no ability to do anything because of STAMINA.
Thats a long boat. Thats silver wolf armour. Thats all the best cooking you can make.
And thats hours and hours of work JUST to get the one set you need to start exploring. And you get screwed over at the first landfall.
Ain't no fun chasing headstones around the map in areas you can't play in anymore because things are just spawning right in front of you whilst you are trying to do something the game wants you to do.
I'll be back at the next update to see how they work all this out.
Untill then, I am not ashamed to say its too hard.

Chopping tree's at night next to black forest is asking for trouble. Troll armor, right food, sleeping at night and Eikthyr power is the key to go. When sleeping at nights also speed up farming, harvest and spawn time of blue berries etc.

Definitely a major reason why I don't wear bronze armor unless I'm expecting to sit there and fight. I usually use troll armor. Also I find that while this happens pretty much all the time, the troll will only aggro if it's around anyways, and the adds that spawn in response to the noise you're marking are only like 3 basic greydwarves during the day. It's far worse at night, but you're obviously expected to try and avoid doing things at night when you can.
In my experience, though, there's not much point running from trolls unless you pop the speed buff or have terrain to slow them down. Though I've never had a problem outrunning them with eikthyr and not wearing bronze armor.
