Has anyone come up with a MOD to stop that annoying stutter in the game when the client saves?
I think it would be a good MOD. The annoying stutter when the game saves is something of a anti-immersive affect.

I sympathize with not wanting to wait for 10 seconds on a save though.
Its so bad that Windows frequently asks if I want to close the program for not responding.

On my day 350~ world I also have like a 3 second freeze now. It was bearable at the beginning but it gets worse. It's especially ♥♥♥♥♥♥ if it happens while you build high.. without hp food... while ofc forgetting to use the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bed.

I don't anticipate that I will play this for that much time. I don't have that much played time in any game except for World of Warcraft, which I quit 12 years ago. I also suspect that the vast majority of players will stop playing well before 2000 hours.I don't mind autosaves every 20 mins. Actually, I kinda like that constancy and the fact that save scumming is more difficult to do. I do wish that we had a 10 or 15 second warning in addition to the 30 second warning though.
You're under 200 hours played, I'm approaching 2000.
Wait till you have a character who's auto save takes up to 10 seconds. It will get old pretty fast.
I sympathize with not wanting to wait for 10 seconds on a save though.

its not the optimal solution because it cant ensure that an save actually happens due to being dependent on the player behaviour Would love it to save when you sleep, this would be the best solution
A prompt simply stating "you haven't slept in days".
Could remind a player he needs to save his progress by sleeping.
It should be part of the experience (sleeping) just like eating is.
You forget to eat... You get one hit from a deathsquito or die jumping off a fence.
You forget to sleep... and the game unexpectedly crashes, or your house loses power...and you travel back in time to the last time you slept.
What you are suggesting is that everyone endure the constant, immersion interrupting auto saves because you feel some people can't be trusted to to sleep periodically.
Even if they don't save, the only way they'll lose progress is if they have a crash or a power outage. If that happens... then they'll know from that point forward to sleep in game more often.
EDIT: The auto saves on my main character have gotten so long and disruptive I've been tempted to just delete him. There are PLENTY of opportunities to save one's progress in this game w/ out the player even noticing. Forcing saves on us, so often and in such a clumsy fashion is hopefully just a temporary thing and I suspect the devs have better solutions in the pipeline.

Well the only reason you want a save is in case of a crash. to desktop. That is how I lost tools that were not in my inventory when I logged on but I moved them out of the box into my inventory So when I came back from the crash I spawned back on my bed without them. The sleeping part is sort of ok but some sort of F5 save as you go would be better like the server.its not the optimal solution because it cant ensure that an save actually happens due to being dependent on the player behaviour Would love it to save when you sleep, this would be the best solution

Can recommend. Configured to not autosave, your saving occurs at logout/quit, when the character sleeps or typing /save manually. Which is actually more survival-game-y.

Maybe if you can do that in 'vanilla' servers. Seems this lag delay damages boats as they suddenly slam down and may hit things. Can recommend. Configured to not autosave, your saving occurs at logout/quit, when the character sleeps or typing /save manually. Which is actually more survival-game-y.
I would give a wish for a hot button to save. If you save the server that locks things in the boxes. Saving your person keeps things straight. Once I saved the server and took something out of a box. The game crashed during a fight (extremely rare occasion). When I came back I had what i last saved on my person (ie what I entered the game with) and the box did not have the weapon I had taken out after the F5 server save. Yikes.

I agree. I hate the auto-save.
I don't understand why the save can't be made when you:
1) sleep
2) Portal
3) Set your spawn point
And if you haven't slept in awhile perhaps the game could simply remind you that...
"You haven't slept in awhile"
