How do you get a tamed boar back into the fenced in area?

I had some slip out and they ran like 500 feet away back to the original spawn. I tried pushing them back towards the pen, but after a certain point the boar pushes back trying to get back to the spawn point.

You need to "fence them in" once you caught them. Sometimes - most often when there are too many of them in a certain space - they will slip through whatever (normal) barrier you have build around their "spot". Yesterday we found a tamed 2-star boar outside of our Farm watching us trying to get the fully loaded cart over a small bridge we build - after a few mins i went and had a look why it did not attack us - it was one of ours :)

Mybe it is because creatures, that was spawned in the night disappears in the morning - maybe it is the same like wolves spawned in the night and catched for the tamming - they also disappeares in the morning (my own expirience)

They shouldn't despawn if they are even part tamed. Had you lured it far from its start position? While an untamed boar will pursue you halfway across the world, if it has a particular spawn point such as a village ruin it will try to return there if it no longer sees a threat.

If you are careful with such boars you can still breed some offspring though, which will no longer be linked to any particular location.

I think tamed boars can aggro on enemies and follow them if not fenced in. Otherwise, they seem to have an anchor point once fully tamed, learned that the hard way when trying to move them to a pen too far away.. So they shouldn't run away from that point on their own under normal circumstances.

As for the slipping out, I have witnessed this sorry event. Now and again, piggys are born squeezed through the fence. Couple days later, *poof* you find a tame boar outside of your enclosure.
