Where 2x2x1 Black Marble?
I just want the floor slab, but on it's side. It's a block in wild structures. Where it? Gib me. lol

My existing build can be rebuilt with marble, but I would have to use the 2x1 blocks because I used 4x2x1 stone which means that my build with marble would cost me 4 times as many objects in my build which would technically reduce the performance of my base by 4x.
The engine has an object limit, and while it is pretty high, the engine also doesn't work well after 25% of the limit has been reached.
What I want is the Infested mine walls, they're like 8x8x1 marble, and all of the rest of the things in the game that are present but can't be built. I don't want to have to rely on mods to bring me things that are already in the game but I like to build in these types of games and it's tough to make a really nice build without all the parts. There's so many decorative pieces and I want them all! I like options.

adding them later is just stupid now as that would force a restart for everyone. mighrt be able to add these with ashlands of course since that will force a restart of the world seeds anyway sadly.

They added/made available the dvergr door, and it didn't force my seed/world to reset, so that statement is false. No idea why it would force a restart for everyone.
Since the block the OP is asking for already seem to have been put to use in dvergr buildings, as the door was, adding it should not ruin stuff players have already build.

its annoying, but you can string two of the one side is slanted together into a big wall, and embed them into each other for a shorter wall. everything is doable, its just weird. The pros of the odd pieces are that you can make neat windows and styles, but just making a basic rectangle room is doable but frustrating.

I struggle to build things that I like with black marble.
I'm part of the crowd that if I'm building with stone/marble it needs to be offset/brick layed style. Seams don't line up type layering.
The sizes of black marble seem to encourage/only work properly if the seams line up tho.

Actual costs:
1x1x1 = 2 marbles (used as standard for comparing the other blocks)
2x1x1 = 4 marbles
2x2x1 = 4 marbles (It should logicly cost twice as much)
2x2x2 = 8 marbles (It should logicly cost twice as much)
I do agree with the OP though, If the piece he/she is looking for is already in the game, adding it to the build menu should be possible.
We do have 4x2 for regular stone (cost 6 stone) , so a 4x2 for black marble wouldn't be out of place. Or as the OP asked for, a 2x2 with a thickness of 1.
After all, it only adds to the game, it doesn't subtract nor nerf , so i would welcome it.
the problem is you simply cannot add BASIC build pieces for the same stuff later on after people build thier big bases. this would punish them way too hard. all basic pieces should be in the game now. adding them later is just stupid now as that would force a restart for everyone. mighrt be able to add these with ashlands of course since that will force a restart of the world seeds anyway sadly.
its the same for the marble plints. there is one which is twice as wide as the current sloped ones on the dvergr towerrs. but you cannot make it as a player. so makeing 2 of these costs 10 marble. but covers the same size as a big block which costs 8. they look alot better tough so maybe thats why.

Well, to be fair, the large blocks already exists, we just can't place them *yet*. The dvergr door was added with upcoming patch, the other blocks will also probably be added with future smaller patches.

I've had this same gripe recently about the vertical 2x1 stone block that appears in some Black Forest ruins. It's not the stone column, because it doesn't flare out at the ends. It's just an unbuildable, vertical version of the 2x1 brick.

Agreed, we need some slimmer and higher walls for black marble, making anything with it is both too expensive because of it and it looks ugly.

bit fat disgree. port marble is looking great rn already. slimer walls just done make sense didnt exist for stone either.
but its not too expensive. plunder dvergr towers and ruins. you get like 600 marble out of a single infested mine below an old dvergr tower for example. out of ONE of these. now try 10.
and i know that from first hand experience. port marble has already costed over 10000 marble by now. and its still not done.
well get the door with the patch. and that will probaly be it. basic floors structures would be all added by now already as leaveing these out would be utterly stupid game design wise. my guess is they wanna keep each material have some use in the end. for example the stone arcs are still better for certain spaces than the new marble ones as they look totally different.
