Right now for me with the new patch is trash lol, but I have to remap the buttons meh. When there's no problems, it is great!

before they took on controller support, Ps4 controller worked great, theres the alt combo left key that lets you do things liek turn on off auto pickup( activated during rough moments on accident alot) a way to bring up server info and off, use alt terrain editss such as ramped hoe flattening on hills, even split stacks in half,( then u slide left or right ot ur number, where KB could be faster). How ever the recent patch kinda messed things up. illattribute that to possibly addint he ' controller ' mappings they did for Xbox releace.
curently R2 L2 inputs are incorrect and need to modify in Steams controller setting .
with that self tweak, the only new issue i come across is my 1400 hours of muscle emmory having me toss things out of the chest or inventory instead of quick stacking as it used to. it was replaced with left keys modifer button and SIT button combo. rather than modifier + use for quick stack as it was prior.
biggest issue on this is while on boat. GOOD BUY sinkables when that muscle memory kicks in on boat stashes.
Tinkering with KB mouse a lil bit, it seems easier to snap things precisely(circular Roofs for example) with KB mouse than controler, but outside of super complex builds your wont ever notice.
as said above. combat works great, at least im able to manuver beter with controler, tho Mouse with bow may be better//faster but im trash at console shooters anyways so that could play a part for my aiming.

I still tend to use kb+m for things that require a certain degree of precision, but - other than that - I play completely by controller and haven't had any problems with it so far (though I haven't had a chance to play since several patches back, so that may have changed with the recent control mapping updates in the latest patch).

You can do everything except naming stuff with text, like portals and map markers. I'm still annoyed that they just decided to switch triggers with latest patch so I'm waiting to return to it untill its fixed, who knows, might even change my review to positive after that.

I use controller, but to use controller is to actually go hybrid. combat is great on controller but dealing with chests and menus makes you wanna just use KBM. there's also the writing on signs but they will likely fix that. the latest patch did fix or improve many long standing controller issues that make chests easier to manage but I still find myself using KBM for that.

I play with a ps4 controller and love it. I do revert to keyboard for certain things so I like having the keyboard close by for inputting numbers on stacks, heal potion hotkey when needed QUICK, or chatting. But 95% of the time I use controller. Currently there is a controller issue from latest patch so you will need to download something to remap your controller buttons. I use DS4windows.

I have no issues at all using a PS4 controller.
