Do you start Valheim from your Steam Library page or did you create a desktop shortcut roe Valheim? Do you have other games in your Steam Library? When I start Steam, I often get messages like "Two updates downloaded." I look at the Downloads page to see if they are client updates, SteamWorks updates, or individual game updates.

I had no update, so no idea.

The last update was mid May. Has it been a long time since you last played?

No, I played very recently (within past couple days) and I have quite a few hours in the game so not new to it. But when I started Steam this morning there was a 74.8 MB download--yet no reference to this anywhere that I can find. Seems strange to me, I was already on the latest patch so unclear what this extra stealth 75MB does today. No reason my game should have had to download anything for "file validation" purposes. It was a straight up download the moment I started Steam. Valheim itself still shows the latest version (0.153.2) so this 74MB is a mystery.

Bizarre man. I didn't receive any stealth update and a google search doesn't return any information or mentions of an update either.

Could it be your cloud save data?

I don't have cloud enabled--who knows, just a strange occurrence I guess. Game works so that's not an issue, just strange to have a random update.

Steam sometimes updates dependencies and hooks these udpates to existing, installed games (possibly because those games use the dependencies), maybe that was what prompted that update. I have also seen these updates to be completely unlreated to the game that they were shown to be installed for.

Probably so, it was just an oddity it seems.
