The story of the Troll that Could

Thought I`d share an experience of mine in the wonderful world of Valheim.

It was a beautiful day on our meadow, in my castle sitting on a bench, under the shadow of a birch tree overlooking the protected harbor and its 2 massive out at sea towers and enclosure sea wall. My brother was on another island building a road, he has an issue with roads, so i decided to take a cappuccino break just then. Whatever event happened i should survive it for now (no bats yet), thikkk walls and moat with double gates.

As I return, i find myself FACE TO FACE with a Troll and his tree stick, me on the bench on the pier, him mostly submerged except his head sticking out starring at me, steep shoreline only obstacle.
Startled and thinking there must be more around, I jumped out of my bench, was bare chested for tanning purposes, so I had to don my armor. Mr Troll was blasting me with his rancid breath, but the moment I moved he got mad. He started smashing & blasting. Inner pier was gone in a flash.
The poor Boat got smashed a bit then pushed tf out of the harbor. Blocked the harbor entry. He had it in for me it seemed. How tf did he get here? Did he swim? I build the towers and sea wall as far as one can vanilla, no way I can swim around full Stamina myself.
After pier was recycled wood, he found a little ledge, on top of the pier from the deep water. His head rose above with each step. He was going for the tree for some reason. I barely got to send a few shots at him, then he went berserk: Smashed the poor tree & bench, then the main Hall, roof was gone, all the trophies smashes. The armory and all its boxes with armor/weaps, just stuff on the floor now. Smithy was next, all the chests full of Coal and other goodies, piles of shinny stuff now.
He clobbered tf out of my base, A troll in a china shop.

The poor cart that was between us two took a beating too. Everything around the birch tree got totally hammered.
It only took several seconds.
I should have stayed put and not move, we would have been locked in a face to face conversation indefinitely and eventually be friends.
But why the birch tree? I planted that seedling myself. :lunar2020ratinablanket:

I once had a nice conversation with a troll. He was looking at my beach cabin, probably taking the careful handiwork i took in building it.

Unfortunately, he took an arrow to the knee.

This story would have even better with pictures... but I barely ever to take them myself in exciting situations either.
