Nightly fuling raids
For a while now I've been getting 4-6 fuling attacking me every night. If I'm in my castle, which I normally am, it's a non-event, except the other day they were at the door in the morning to greet me. Still not a big deal, but it's gotten worse.
I just tried to ferry some wolf on one of my longboats across about 1/3 of the map. First day was stormy, so I waited out the storm off the shore of a nearby mistlands. Next day was great, and we got 3/4 of the way there, but it was getting dark, so I pulled into a peaceful meadows bay. Well off shore, but in far enough to avoid the sea serpents.
Not long after dark I hear the wicked laughter of the fulling, and they're swimming toward the ship. The wolves jump overboard "to save me", and get slaughtered. I sail the rest of the way to base in pitch black fog, start working my way into land, and more fulling come out from a totally different continent.
Of course, the wind is off-shore, and there are rocks that I can't see, so I'm stuck. They start pounding my ship until it's almost underwater, so I jump overboard and swim to shore, almost drown, with 3 health remaining.
They proceed to kill half the animals around my castle, and proceed into morning, I guess. I never found them, but it's annoying that I can get multiple fuling spawns in one night on different continents when I'm in the water.
Does anyone else experience this? This doesn't seem to be normal events. It's literally every night like clockwork.
For the most part they're not hard, since I'm prepared, and I tend to make a fun time of it, but this one was especially annoying.

You absolutely can get Fuling Horde Events now, my place has fended them off 3x and I enjoy the metal left behind.
I don't need anymore black metal. I'm running out of places to stash it. This is just some of it:

How about you build a black metal chest.

Do note they seem to be in high aggression mode and won't lose you unless you get out of load distance or more likely they get distracted by the other mobs. They're annoying for this reason, no amount of sneak will help you avoid them, like an event. They despawn once day is up though. (though a bug was present when H&H was first out they wouldn't, same with Fenrings and Wraiths, but this was fixed).

Pretty much the reason why I have never killed Yagluth in my first world, I don't want my peaceful heaven to be spoiled unless it's absolutely mandatory

Don't you get the fuling horde events? I've never gotten one, but they sound worse (although less frequent) than the nightly events.

it is not multiple fulling spawn per say if you looked at your mini map you would have seen a large red circle on you. You were having a event called hunting event. Basically it is like the other events where stuff comes and attack you base. But instead they are coming after you. NO MATTER you are or go. well unless you go into troll cave/crypt, or burial chambers they do not follow into those.
This is incorrect. Fuling spawn naturally at night in any biome (even the mountains) after you have defeated yagluth. I think their spawns are identical to the fuling group spawns that happen at night in the plains because there’s always 2-3 of them when they spawn. Fuling raids can’t happen after you defeat yagluth and raids are rare enough that you won’t get one daily. (In my experience they happen very infrequently).
The only way to deal with this is to sleep at night, as the fuling only spawn at night.
That sounds right, other than the number, at least for me. During the day in the plains I generally see groups of 2, but at night, that grows to at least 4, sometimes up to 6. That's also what I see other places.
One difference is that, in the plains it's pretty much immediate. As soon as the sun goes down a group of fuling spawn. Other places it tends to be much later at night.
