Report these instances to steam, screenshot and document as much as you can. It likely won't help tho as the devs decide who moderates their forums.

I've had posts removed for simply saying someone's argument wasn't intelligent. You can only post here about fluffy clouds and rainbows, all depends on the mods mood and if they decided they like you or not.

Really don't care tho, if they want to moderate their forums into oblivion to the point where it harms revenue that's on them.

I doubt it will. the forum is mostly filled with complainers and whiners. it's not really a good place to be if someone is looking for helpful advice or informations to the game.

review section is bombed with "oh this is the usual early access cash grab. stay away." which is simply not true.
there are games that offer even less content and those games don't even have the ea tag on steam.

I get the heavy moderation here. when every other post is just some hate filled rant it needs to get removed.

Except it's overbearing. You cannot express a negative opinion or even something close to one. They will bash you over the head with a rule book over extraordinarily loose and vague terms to the point where only carefully selected posted are allowed to exist.

The only reason that this thread is still going is because the reddit mod hasn't woken up yet.

It's not only about whether or not you actually broke any rules yourself, but if you start a thread which, at it's core, is made to incite arguments / bickering.

The forums are supposed to be for discussions about the gameplay and not somewhere to come air grievances with the developers, or dissatisfaction with how long it's taking for the game to be developed, or how the devs spend their time / money etc.
The only thing these types of threads cause is fighting, and rightfully removed.

That being said, I've seen more then plenty of discussions outright deleted or removed at what appeared to be an emotional response over a logical one. Both parties can be engaged In fruitful debates but if the mod feels inclined they will shut it down at a whim. Telling someone you disagree with what they are saying will result in a warning.

So you really can't sit there and say open discussions take place here, they don't. When the game launched there was a great community that was able to freely share their thoughts, now all that has to happen outside of steam due to rampant middle management abuse.

The Mods' job is to remove toxicity from the forums and keep things constructive and within the Steam guidelines.... They are doing a great job IMO, considering how toxic Valheim forums were before mods were brought on board.

No matter how "fruitful" you think these discussions are, it is still, at it's core arguing and debating, which ultimately turns toxic.

They don't remove only toxic comments. And also they let "friendlies" to be toxic towards "hostiles".

This is the exact reason that entire threads are removed... Moderators should not have to pick and choose individual comments to remove.... If the OP is a thread which inherently is causing toxicity to occur, they generally will remove the thread, regardless of how well-intentioned the post may have started out as. That's just the way it is, because people can't police themselves, unfortunately.

Your looking at this in a rather binary kind of way. Discussions rarely are black and white in the way that you describe. The problem here is blanketly brushing anything you disagree with or don't like into a category labeled "toxic" so you can summarily dismiss it and feel good about it at the same time.

Debates are highly subjective in terms of how one takes them in. I have no problem with them dealing with disruptions and in general performing the functions of a mod. It's a problem when mod is fostering a forum that panders to their own personal emotions and feelings rather then hosting an open forum for its intended function.

You have a thread in the bug report section. Was it moved there?

That's the weird thing. I did make a second one and that si where some of the comments were. But when I clicked on the notification at the top that said I had comments the page it takes you to showed I had some but that the discussion they were on was deleted. But it didn't show the other discussion at all. One discussion was definitely deleted but the notification page seemed bugged/incorrect as well.

There are definitely comments/posts that get deleted either without reason or stating they use inapropriate language/abuse. e.g. A comment of mine saying "Oh boy... game becomes worse with each update" was marked as bad and deleted. Same thing happened when tried to ask why forums got locked, etc, the list goes on.

I got a warning from a moderator for commenting on a post just like this yesterday without breaking a single rule. this too will probably be taken down and I will probably receive another warning even though im on topic and not insulting anyone. Good luck though getting your question answered.
