Starting to think Valheim is in Valhalla

if you check the twitter, it seems like teasers are escalating. hopefully we will get a public test patch in the next few weeks, and assuming no big issues detected, the update goes gold by the end of 2022.

Don't hold your breath, at this rate based on what they've done so far and what they hope to do - and I kid you not - it's looking like 2027 at the very earliest. If you're looking for a 'complete' game, I'd seriously recommend coming back in a few years. But if endless early-access is your vibe, then it is undoubtedly a great time.

Well i thought something like this with god of war ragnarok but as we see , IG dont even bother about give updates when other big games that are a little close to valheim are just release

Mistlands is only one step on the roadmap of ~9 or so planned updates, hearth and home being the first. What your saying would only make sense for the full 1.0 release when the roadmap is done and it's time to leave early access.

Development progress is very slow, even for an indie game and is more on par with a single developer with no budget. They have several developers and a very considerable budget, but have gotten sidetracked a bit with crossplay and expanding the market etc.

They might get mistlands out in time for Xmas, but even if they manage that it makes you wonder if it will be xmas next year for the next main update with a couple things inbetween.

With the current speed of everything, and honestly the sheer lack of acknowledging any criticism around their speed or the riddle posts they make, id say.. 2026-2028 to be honestly fair to them at the pace they are moving.

Never, stop being sheep. You defend these horrid practices like its wearing orange makeup.

I want them to finish the game so I can mod it. These guys need to up their game with the unity engine, its not a total dog. No mans sky has the same engine, but its not as good a game, just finish Valhiem please.

I mean, it's whenever the devs yank the EA disclaimer off of the store page and call the game "complete." Hypothetically, it could happen tomorrow. It'd make a lot of people upset, but they could probably do it. Though, I think they'll at least shove Mistlands out the door before that happens, and it'd be weird if they don't do something with the Ashlands.

If you are asking for an ETA on when the game will actually have everything the devs initially said they wanted in the game, than our best guess is years from now. The initial expectation was 10 biomes/bosses. Right now there are 5 and none have been added in the ~2 years since the game released into EA. If you buy all of the excuses being made, the rate of progress should be ramping up, so between 3 and 10 years sounds about right. . . . Assuming they actually do make that content and don't give up sooner. See: the start of this post.

The game isnt even like diablo why would they wait? besides blizzard sucks

Considering they are trying to sneak the xbox version of the game into "sometime next year", this will be the update that makes the game "complete", even if the dev's say it's early access for decades more. It's more about the community's overwhelming decision to play the game and experience the new content, making the game feel fresh and new. The crossplay will help a lot with forcing others to play this game, regardless of what platform they glom on to, and the game will feel new to many.

I would say at the current speed of development it will be a long time before this game is considered finished, think in terms of years rather than months, that said, devs have said there will be an end to the game at some stage as they would like to move on, so not an ongoing game, just a slow to develop one

When minecraft first hit xbox, it was barebone, far behind Java. So doing early access on console is doable.

Now they said full release Next year but I still see it as Release with more coming. theres still other map areas for them to add to. The AshLands and Deep North, Ashlands right now is open and nothing there but some fire fiends or w/e and Deep north is just Mountains and snow(shocker). Theres a lot more they could add and should add for not only fans of the game but to keep bringing new people which will = more money for them with other projects and more.

End of 2022 was the last known release window for Mistlands based on the Road Map. So hope it comes soon because I really dont want to start over(again(5th time)).

Probably a couple more years until full release.
