Will this run on potate laptop
I have a very ancient laptop that can run AAA games of 2008-2011 era with ease but have a big struggle with latter ones. Considering how laughably bad graphics of this game are (don't intend to insult, devs managed to make primitive ps 1 graphics look good hands down) I wonder if it would run on ancient machine or this game managed to have broken performance even on such graphics. Experience of players with ancient semi-alive laptops would be very welcomed.

Where does your laptop fall between on the minimum and recommended specs?
If it doesn't even meet the minimum, give it a pass, as you'll have a very high chance for a having a bad experience with fps and load/save times.
If you meet the recommended specs or above it should play pretty good.
The game has not been optimized for efficiency yet so results may vary greatly between players. CPU, Ram, Drive speed seems to be the bottle necks for lots of people.
People with high end, enthusiast builds have reported issues, most of which are user errors. Attempting to run a game that's not optimized at 4-8k res on a 144hz+ monitor at max resolution, refresh, and settings will cause issues for most people.

On a 6 core 4600U Ryzen/ 16gb ram / nvme (2020, $600), which games alright for a non gamer, Valheim will run, but it runs between 20-40FPS on the absolute lowest settings @720p. To be fair, Valheim doesn't run "great" on my gaming desktop either, even at lower resolutions.

It might run, I doubt it'll be playable.
Specs would help.

It will run on almost anything, but what framerate you'll get is another matter.
Performance has suffered since Mistlands. My RTX 2070 goes between 20-60 FPS on 1440p atm.
A friend runs it on integrated graphics of a Ryzen 5600x and it's borderline playable with ~20 FPS (1080p).

Steam has an excellent no questions asked refund policy on games you have played less than 2 hours. Buy it and try it out. If it doesn't run return it before 2 hours of playtime and your good to go.
