Running into structural integrity issues with my small castle. Any suggestions?

The roof is red, I have structural beams all throughout the inside but that takes up floor space and I'm trying to work out how to make it more sound whilst removing these. It's a little bit of a headache and I need some advice on building.

It also seems to need constant repairs ._.

There isn't any per se. However roof pieces, angled wood beams, and stakewall are all waterproof - and protect pieces under them.

Yeah, the build limit with wood is quite low, for really large structures, you're looking at stone and black marble. For massive structures, you're going to need Iron walls, which can be used as reinforcement while other pieces are built on top, around or underneath them. Using Iron reinforcement, you can build massive structures in excess of 5 stories. But it's really time consuming and resource intensive without dev cheats. That can be both a good and bad thing. If you like having a reason to set out into the world and return with a cargo hold full of Iron, you'll like it. If doing anything other than building fills you with anger, you might be better off hacking the game.

Take you flint axe to the black forest and cut down some pine trees. Pine trees produce core wood. Core wood will allow you to build a 2nd story. You can easily have a 4 meter by 8 meter, 2 story structure, with core wood. Frame the building first then put the roof on to protect the rest of your build from the weather add the walls, doors, and the flooring after the roof is on.

Pictures might help. Make sure any wood piece is blue when you hover your mouse over it, this means it is grounded or touching stone, that is the strongest it can be. Stone, on the other hand, needs to be touching the ground, or on top of other stone or Iron.

I've yet to be able to make stone infrastructure, so it's more of a wooden fort to try hide from the events with a bow. I'll see if I can get a photo to upload, been having strife with that recently.

Has the same thing on the other side. Don't know how to make it more secure, currently looking at digging a trench around it. Has wood beams along the walls, linked at the top. Wood beams going off the structure into the ground. Interior's just straight beam towards the roof with angled beams off of it to the walls. Roof still red-orange

If you're only using wood, you're not going to get much higher.
Core wood will allow you to span about twice the height.
You'll eventually gain access to metal and stone building for the maximum height.

The game doesn't have real world physics so trusses and triangle supports and whatever else are redundant. All that matters is the shortest distance to the ground provides the most support.

That's slightly annoying. When do I get access to that material?

Yeah at the stage your at I'd suggest Core Wood for that, you will need maybe a stack of 50 or more if you plan on making your roof taller or making an over all bigger structure. Next stop might be the Black Forest in that case.

Also I'm Aussie if you want to add me I viewed your profile could join you (if my internet doesen't throw a fit) and throw in a few build tips if you like.
