I actually stopped leveling my armor above 2 because it feels so dumb when you get tot he next set and its the same stats as the one you are wearing.. it's just a freaking resource dump.. very annoying.. now when I make the next set it feels like progress is being made.

The Armor is the last thing you should be using your Eitr on though, even if it is better. The shield being the one exception because the block armor boost can help you parry or tank some things you wouldn't have been able to.

carapace armor is total boost of 4 armor. not 6. people forget youre also gonna use the feather cape. face it : YOU WILL USE this cape its effect is just too good. so you lose 2 armor on cape. so the total gain over padded is only 4 armor currently.

and yes. thats is bad progression and therefore make carapace the last thing you craft. no clue why the devs did this. it makes no sense. but it is is what it is till the next content update which is hildir. if the forge level 3 is not added with hildir theyll delay them till ashlands for certain. aka end of the year roughly.

People use the Feather Cape even with padded armor, the Feather Cape is arguably the first thing you should ever make, so I think the 6 armor increase is still a fair assessment, depending on where you do your calculating from.

True, they use the same mechanic as the other armors, but this is the first time we had to wait for the next forge upgrades. I hope they give us the next 2 forge upgrades before Ashlands comes out!

I mean, padded armor is NOT better. Its lower by 6 overall defense, which is strictly worse. I'll give you the carapace buckler vs black shield though. But carapace shield vs black shield? Nah, carapace still better.

Carapace Buckler is good because its 2.5 parry bonus instead of 1.5, thats a big damage boost.

Carapace shield is just straight better, durability aside.

parry bonus only effects blocking, not actual damage. The opening allows you to crit them, but the crit multiplier is always the same, no matter the parry bonus.

I did not know that! Good to know. Still helps it be more effective, though, maybe not much better.

If you just replace your statement "big damage boost" with "big block armor boost", you'd be 100% correct. Your head is in the right spot.
