I mostly took the StagBreaker to defeat the Bonemass, then my iron axe (but I nearly died), some frost arrows, then finished it with Stagbreaker.

Bows won't do much good vs the 3rd boss, unless you spend some time in the mountains first - which is harder to do before beating the 3rd boss.

There is a trick -- make a loud sounds under a mountain and mobs will come to you.

mountains are fine before you kill bonemass
easy to wipe out enough drakes and wolves to get the upgraded gear to help with bonemass

just go slow and watch out for golem rock piles (and use freeze resist mead til you get the wolf cape)

Bow alone not, but if you put a lot of cheese on it, yes still the best weapon ...

As WhiteDwarf says, you can build a platform up in the trees and take about 200 frost arrows and a big block of cheddar up there. Bonemass just sits there like an eejit and eats the cheese while you finish him off with the frost arrows.

bonemass steps it up a little but if you have all the right items he is pretty easy.you can beat him the real way no need to cheese, just have the right items/wep/armor and he is no problem.edit: block his normal swing hit hit hit repeat,run out when he pukes or just tank it(poison res potion) and keep hitting him.when he throws out the adds go kill them real quick and that's the fight

Also they've not built half the bosses (or their biomes) yet.

yes, first boss is basically a tutorial, 2nd is slightly more difficult
later bosses are much more difficult

Yeah this is two hours ago so you've probably already ran into one of the assorted deadly mobs in a swamp/mountain/plains. Go for swamps first.

Yeah, thats normal, first two bosses can easily be taken down without too much preparation. Your screwed now though, prepare to die
