What grows in the Mountains?

I'm working on a castle in the mountains and was thinking about planting an acorn. I know that none of the veggie seeds will grow in the mountains. Will a tree? Not to sound like Scrat, but I'd hate to lose my acorn! They're hard to come by.

I went full iron and used sausage/black soup/turnip stew, and that worked well for me. I skedaddled on out at night, though. Wasn't ready to take on fenrings at that time.

I had the same experience as you, once, electricdawn, where I died one time because I used improper food and then failed several parries on a 1 star wolf, and got staggered repeatedly. Not my finest hour :)

Pretty much everyone (except those boring hardcore players), use QoL mods anyways.

I don’t understand why people make assumptions they know is the exact opposite of true

Modding is always the minority, to claim most people who play the game mod it is ridiculous. A majority of players who play the game never touch mods, however you may be confused because people who frequent the forums are more likely to mod their game than ones that never look at the forums at all.

Agreed, no mods, ever. This is EA, an "Alpha" this is the time for testing.

I must say that I tried out that Planbuild mod, that allows you to do blueprints of built sections or even full houses. It's pretty neat, and when I finally beat that last boss (yeah, whatever), I will do a build world, which I just explore at my leisure and where I build pretty houses with Planbuild and no resource requirements.

I'll probably also gonna use that Grow Everything mod then. ;)

LOL, absolutely correct. The only thing worse are those judgmental players using mods. :steamsalty:

The decorative options from the plant anything mods are pretty neat tho.

I suspect the majority play vanilla, even a turnkey mod manager is outside many people's technology comfort zone and many won't even know the option exists. Steam forums are not representative.

No-one's really playing the game as intended by the devs right now because it's not finished yet. Some QoL mods will likely be replicated by the core game over time.

I always assume the developers intended for me to have fun while playing. If a QOL mod adds to that fun, I have a hard time imagining the devs having an issue with that.

I‘m no „hardcore“ player. I play the game as intended by the devs. I‘m 60 years old and I’m getting by. Playing the game as intended is not „hardcore“ by any means.

Thank you! That's no fun. Glad I won't be finding out the hard way too.

That's true, but while I usually mod the living hell out of every game I play, I mostly play Valheim on a dedicate server that my partner set up, so I haven't modded it.
